2010-2011 M8 which lightweight can

yes FITMENT for the 2010 800's is the same as 2009 1000's, but just because it fits doesn't mean the airflow, backpressure, etc is the same. That is why a lot of companys are doing testing and the cans aren't available yet!
I personally wouldn't go slapping a 1000 can on my 800 just cuz it fits! Just my $.03

I haven't looked into it at all, but are the part numbers for the 09 1000 suitcase and the '10 M8 the same? If they are that would mean the internals are the same therefore aftermarket cans would be interchangable. Just a common cent to add to the collection.

sure it will fit, but it wont work correctly. The back pressure and volume of air coming out of the 1000 motor vs the 800 motor are completely different. Both of which play an essential part in maximum horsepower...

Dont be surprised to see a heavier 800 with the stock can smoke your 800 with the 1000 lightweight can on it...

Apparently MBRP did dyno the new can on the 2010 and basically made 1 horsepower, not sure if they made any changes to the one that was made for the m1000.

Cans

The can manufacturers claim HP rating as say +1 or what ever they claim but that might be at one point of the HP curve on a dyno chart, it might be -5 at a different point in the curve. That is why i think it would be nice to see a dyno chart.

Ya I agree that's why I'm just going to run the stock can for a while first, then see what works.

x2 cant wait i have had hps on all my old sleds but this is my first arctic cat

Should have had Scott ship our cans together and save some $$$. Do you know what you spent yet to get it shipped up here? I had a HPS on my 08 RMK and I was very happy with the exhaust note. I pulled it off and sold it this year and it still looked and sounded new.

Did Scott already ship yours?? dang he hasn't called me yet

Bikeman is making one of these, They promise no BHP loss thru out the powerband? May be worth waiting and see what comes about from all the MFGr's! I would break it in with the stocker for warranty issues, Then mod mid season so you can get a good baseline once broken in?
