2009 Summit XP 146

Not very familiar with the necessary mods to help make the early XP's easier to keep on edge. I have a buddy that just picked up a 2009 Summit XP 600 Etec 146.
With $500 what can be done to make this sled a joy to ride?

The 36" Front suspension off a 2011 would be a good start.
