2009 Snow Show Buys?

I was hoping to meet some of you fellas at the show. I asked everybody I ended up talking with and never came across any active SnoWesters. PJ, did you have a booth?

Klim Jacket, 509 Goggles w/polarized lenses. Raffle Tickets and talked two friends into buying new sleds in the swap meet area. With their wives support! I love helping spend money for others.

You must not have been looking very hard. They were everywhere. I think I even saw your truck in the lot.

I picked up a Snowpulse highmark 30 pack. Was lookin at the BCA packs, but if they're anything like the tracker 2's they won't be out till december 2011.

Went to the avy class then hit the show

Nothing too exciting..it was the last few hours. Seemed like the Klim gear was priced ok but they were willing to lower the price with little to no nudging.

Saw Hijacker Bill he had a little side by side comparison of the knock off jack. you could really see where the extra money went into his. That said I don't carry either.

Goldfinger guy was super cool. Started telling him I had one for my Rev but it wouldn't cross over for my XP. He basically gave me everything off the XP kit except the handle so I could convert my old one and make it work. Asked it how much and he said FREE. A word I love to hear :) Small cost for him and he gets a free spokesman and all my future business. Some people just know how to run a business I guess.

Walked into every dealers spot and gave them the once over. The only people who even looked up to talk to me was Felkers. Even made a point to have the parts person come out and introduce themselves as a point of contact. Good job of promoting their business. Just wish they were closer.

Definitely missed the presence of Xtreme :(

Bumped into a dozen or so Snowesters including 4-5 of them actually working the show, don't those count?

Nothing super great but a good showing for CO...hey at least we get a snowshow!

:beer;

I also took the Avy class and bought some flint to start a fire, two for twenty bucks Skibreeze went in on that deal with me and bought a Klim helmet for a decent price.

Went to the Avy class. Onto the snow show. Bought Boonerdock the T8 video he forgot the day before. Also talked to the BCA guy about the new avy bags. Went to the True North booth and put my name down on the waiting list for one. Sometime in December they should be shipped out.

A few comments I overheard while at the Denver snow show:

How much does that short track weigh....Oh I dont know around 400 dry..LOL

How much for the hood off that sled...$2000 and it comes with the rest of the sled...

Are you actually trying to sell (3) used spark plugs with a bag of clutch weights....sure make me an offer...LOL

So whats up with that generator...You know its loud, heavy and priced a bit high...Uh no thanks

Do you know what this rear suspension is from....Well what do you ride....Uh mid 90's Cat...yup should work....Keep in mind its black and yellow and says SC-10 on the side

Uh how much for a doghnut...Their free....Hmm no thanks..How much did you want to pay?

Do you guys know where the restrooms are...no but we are pizzing next to the trailer..

Do you guys have a ramp I can use...No but the four of us could throw your sled it that truck...Hmm I will keep looking...WTF

Do you know if that XP with the sold sticker on it is still for sale....

Do you know what that XP sold for...Yeah 6500...would you take another 200...sure but the sled is not mine..LOL..

Have either of you seen mark or eric around...Not sure whats their screen name...whats a screen name.....you know from snowest...Uh like the magazine, huh...never mind we havent seen them.

Hey buddy do need any pistons from a 800 dragon..How much...free...I'll think about it..

Now for the best part, this is all from the Snowest swap area....ROTFLMAO

I didn't make it there Sat. Went to Mike's avy class Sun morning, which was the highlight. From the class, hit the show for hour and bought a DVD (BD8 + bonus DVD best-of, plus a calendar for $17) and my buddy bought a new shovel (broke his digging out trailer last year). Sun afternoon seemed like the time for deals in the show, everybody was willing to move stuff hard. Finally made it out to the swap area at 3 and it was empty:( Guess I'll make sure to hit the swap on Saturday next year, and the inside show on Sunday. seems like those are the days for the deals.

thought we had a great turn out! i didn't go inside. i'm more for the swap meet section, first year i didn't go inside (guess i didn't knowing damn well i couldn't buy **** inside :))

Friend of mine picked up a 2003 summit ZX 700 for $1200 we're hoping it to turn into quite the deal. seemed to run fine and again when loading onto the trailer so we'll see. hopefully all will work out with that.... we're mainly snowboarders anyway so a ride to the top is all we are looking to add to the "crew".

if any of you "westers" ever see me out stop me and say hi i'm always rock'n my alpine (can't seem to garage that sucker love to ride it, classic she is)

Setup in the swap on Friday...good thing as the swap area was totally disfunctional. The show inside was small compared to back east. I did pick up some cheap Klim boots for my kids and a couple Klim Inversion jacket liners for them. Ordered a boss seat for a OK price. Bought a backpack, shovel and probe for my kid too. Spent the rest of my money joining the CO Snowmobile Assoc., Loveland snow club, and donating to the cause to keep land open.

Thanks to all who bought from me in the swap. I was the one with the 40ft Haulmark trailer up by the front fence with the two boys helping me out. Was hoping to sell the trailer or more stuff to help pay for a couple beacons for the kids but that will have to wait for now.

Damn cold sitting in the swap all day. Sold a couple odds and ends which payed for my stuff I bought inside.
Overall I was just expecting a lot bigger show. Guess I'm just used to Haydays and the shows back in Michigan. Even the small town shows in Michigan are bigger and better than this one. Back there they set them up at a county fair grounds. The new vendors go in the buildings, the swap is in a huge field, they have grass drags to watch, they have quads and sleds to test drive, they have lots of food stands to get my fix of junk food, there are way more new dealers selling tons of crap cheap, and sometimes they set up a huge ramp for the boys to do some sick tricks on.

At Nelson's show they make snow in August with liquid nitrogen and have snowcross racing.

I'd personally like to see another show up at the new Ranch in Loveland with the things I just mentioned. It's a whole lot more fun for the whole family when they have racing and other events happening.

My dimes worth....Chuck.
