2008 m1000 sno pro

Hey guys! Been looking for a sled for a month or so now. Was going to buy a used Summit. I was down at my local Arctic Cat dealer where I bought my Prowler, and they have a couple 2008 M1000 Sno Pro's left. Just wandering on how the M1000 was in 2008. Never rode a M1000 before. I rode my buddies 08 M8 last year and liked it.

Mine has been great so far. I heard that cat sent out a recall on 08's and that their ecu's needed reflashed. Most everyone that did this had a throttle that would bog off the bottom that they were stuck with. I got the reflash notice and threw it in the trash. My sled comes right off the throttle crisp and runs great, so if you pick one up, you might want to pass on the ecu reflash. Just my .02 Oh and you will like the power over the stock 08 M8.

I absolutely love my 08 m1000 sno pro. In our group we have an 09 m8 that is a backup sled that i could ride anytime i chose, but i'd much rather have the added power whether it's a deep powder day, carvin in the trees, or spring riding. Oh and on another side note there's also an 09 xp that sits in the garage with only 32 miles on it because no one cares to ride it in the group.

Is there much difference between the 2008 M1000 and the 2009 M1000? They have a couple of each and just wandering if I should spend the extra 2 grande and get a 09.

Off the top of my head, the big difference would be the Engine reverse and the weight savings. Plus the new style tailpan. KSH

I've heard on here that the 09's run better than the piped 07's and 08's. But to me it wouldn't be worth the extra 2k. Mine runs well enough for me:D

My 08 M1000 developed the bog after one season and the update fixed it completly. Like a whole new sled. I would recommend the update, and besides the CPU flash you get a few more heat shields and a better exhaust outlet. As far as the sled compared to an M8, there is nothing like big cc torque. Grunt is outstanding. It's just a fun sled.

Thanks for the input guys. I was havin a few beers lastnight with a buddy and he has both a M8 and a 2009 XP and he said he'd rather ride his M8 way more fun in the tree's.

There is not enough difference to justify 2k for an 09 over the 08. If you get one, ride it first before you reflash. More guys had problems after the reflash then before. Oh and by the way, you can do elec. reverse on the 08

$900 for bdx light drive, $70 for 09 helix( get a 40/36 slp). $550 powerclaw, around $400 for rear tunnel design, $100 ish 2 wheel kit. don't forget the rails are lighter to and the resale is way better. the 09 is a far better sled and worth 2k anyday. the mapping is better and the clutching had less problems( The clutching is the same but the sled is 22lbs lighter and the lighter track seems to make the belt and clutches work better. and yes a 09 will beat a full piped 07 except in a drag race, mainly because of the track but everything on the 09 will get you farther in the snow. If you are on a budget and plane on keeping the sled the 08 is still a great sled, but I'd take a 09 m8 over a 08 m1000 stock to stock. I think the only reason to have an m1000 is because of there potential with mods. if you go with it at least get the dealer to throw a PC on it.
