2008 F250 6.4 7.6 MPG when towing?

6.4 PSD Dually 4.10 Gears 10-12 MPG Pulling 21ft enclosed trailer 16-18.5 empty.Remove the B.S in the exhaust with a programmer and be done with it.

I get 13 mpg with 3:73 gearing in tow/haul mode at 60 mph with what you see hear in the pick loaded up with all our gear needed for a get away. BTW, the truck is stock other than a K&N air filter. This mileage calculation also includes warm up time.

08 6.4L F350 crew long box w/27' enclosed charmac and 4 sleds 8.5-9 mpg doing 75-80mph. I used to get 13-14 w/my 06 5.9L cummins. The emissions crap (dpf) sucks! I do love the truck though, just not the mileage! Average around 13mpg in town and 15mpg on highway.

06 Dodge 5.9 empty 22 mpg highway 18 city by my display! When i figure it by hand 17 mpg highway 13 mpg city. Going on first sled trip with it this weekend.

I've had 3 vehicles with a display and they were all off!! Checked at the pump is the only accurate way. Pisses me off when guys report of high mileage and they're going by the display!

I had a 01 7.3 and now have a 04 6.0. Seem fairly close in mileage, 15 +\- empty and 12 on down loaded. So many factors involved- wind, #1 fuel, terrain and mostly(this one kills mine) speed. A friend of mine gets great #'s whatever he drives cause he drives like a grandma. Hate riding with him cause it takes forever to get somewhere.

I was just taking to a guy that had a 05 duramax and now has a new one. He said mileage definetly went down the crapper, wishes he had the 05 back.

I have a 2006 f350 cc longbox 3:73 pulling 6place open i get 10 at 78
But it is in the shop getting new turbo, headbolts, egr cooler, and headgaskets.
So we took my buddies 08 6.4 same load running 78-80 6mpg
So what you save in fuel you spend on repairs.
Got to love these ovals.

08 f350 towing 4 place enclosed at 70 mph gets 10 mpg. empty doing 80 mph averaging 15 mpg. had an 04 dodge and it got 3 mpg better than the ford all around. but the ford drives like a cadilac compared to the dodge. if i wanted milage i would buy a car i

I have a 2000 F250 CC 7.3. The best milage at 65 has been about 16 and it loses about 5 mpg if pulling something. Have about 130,000 miles on it and never saw the improved mileage that everyone said I would get after 20,000 miles or so! However, it has been a very dependable truck, just don't like the fuel economy. And don't trust the computer on the Lariat because it is always about 4-5 mpg off! Also, I put an economy chip in it after about 5,000 miles and never say much if any difference, except the transmission shifted smoother.

Just got my 08 F250 6.4L crewcab short box a few weeks ago so its only got 2400 miles on so far but I've been getting about 11 at 75-78 empty 13-14 at 65 depending on the wind and stuff. I pulled my 25ft inline enclosed with two sleds the week after I got it and got 11 at 70mph and last week pulled our 3000# car trailer with our skidsteer that ways about 5000#s around to clean slush up and was getting 9.

Just thought I'd put an update on this. My pickup now has 5500 miles and the temperatures here have finally gotten above 40farh. Not sure if its the temp or the miles but my mileage has gotten a bit better. My last trip with 90miles of interstate at 75, 40 miles of 65, and some in town driving hand calculated came to 15.2mpg. Pulled home a 12" PTO driven pump with a 20ft cast iron pipe that weighed about 6k with the trailer at 78 and was still getting 12.5mpg temps were in the 20s. I should add I have the 3.55 gears which still seems to be no problem with power of the 6.4L. Oh I should add I was a bit off on the weight of our skidsteer is actually 7k#s instead of 5k#s.

Ya ya, Lets bring this thread back!

Just got back from out west and pulling our 4 place enclosed with 4 guys and 4 sleds plus all riding gear at 75mph I got 8-9 mpg avg. over all both ways.

I cant wait till my 05 GMC dura gets broke in and I start seen 15 mpg pulling! They say the next 100k will be the best!

Jdracer, are you getting headstuds, and an egr delete while its apart? Well worth the small fee (in the diesel world) to have that done. Would give you less complaints in the long run with your "oval".

So many experts on everything anymore.I still do research for all diesel size engines and used to own three different performance companies. Before you start removing emissions equipment .I would do more research. We tested a 08 6.4 for Hy-Drive who is a public company and tried numerous test for economy. The best we could get with the F450 was 13.7 empty at 75mph.At 65 it went to 14.8.I test trucks for mpg every time a new model comes out. There are good and bad with each brand.Best of luck.Doc

Your not affiliated with Dr.Performance. Your just an idiot who claims to be someone he's not.

To the OP. Shoot me a PM and I'll set ya up with a site that can help get you pointed in the right direction for help. Plenty of solutuions for minimal cost

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but how is it that about 1/2 the people I talk to get crap for miledge with their diesel trucks and the other 1/2 get 36 mpg with 750 horse and 37x13.5" boggers on them?:confused:
