2 Stroke turbo

Mcx Nytro

I am thinking of switching to a cat turbo sled.Brand new 12 M8 162, and possiable BB nest year. I am looking for real world experiences with dealers who have the whole package. I live near Revelstoke but am willing to go south of the border for a complete sled. I will run av gas on a regular basis, but am willing to go race fuel for some crazy fun at high boost, for a few rides.:scared::scared: PLEASE let's not turn this into a bashing thread, but would really like some info if there is a pull and go 2 stroke turbo. Whose setup and why??? I had an 08 T-Nytro which ws a gas and it had pretty much everything($37,000.00), so I will spend the cash needed to get what I want. Plus what issues are inevitable with a 2 stoke, things that no dealer can get rid of or to be expected........ Thanks for any help....Terry

I ride with two cat turbos. One is a 2010 M8 with a Push and the other is a 2010 with a Twisted Turbo. Both have run excellent this year, both with 1200 miles respectively. We do lots of riding at home which has an elevation of 1300 ft. Fuel wise they have been running pump with 25% C12 mixed in. Booost levels of around 7 lbs no problem. I used to ride a Turbo Apex. I picked up a new 2011 162 M8 on Monday. I am having a Boon Docker installed as we speak. Should be ready Friday. After riding a M8 with boost there is no going back to four stroke. No bashing just my experience.

Thanks for your input:wave:..when your're back come on and telll us about it.....Anyone else Good Dealer who knows cat turbo's???

Im running a twisted kit on my m8 and it is very clean and has been reliable so far. Im sure what shane comes up with for the 2012 will be a home run as well. I got my kit from twisted canada out of prince george and dallas the owner has been very helpful as well as shane has answered my questions. these guys Answered the phone on a saturday night at 9 pm when i was installing and had questions. Thats pretty good service if you ask me. I live in vernon also and would lend a hand on your install if you needed. Keep me posted as id like to see a 2012 on boost regardless of the kit you choose!

I had a boondocker pump gas M8 last year pull and go all year. I ride with an OVS m8 race gas and an OVS m1000 race gas both just run and run. This year I bit the bullet and got the propane turbo M8 from OVS. So far so good very easy to tune and cheap to run. My experiences with Travis and Garr at OVS and Justin at Code Red performance have been great and support is key, find some one that you are comfortable with and go with them, it seems that any of the reputable builders are putting out good products. Pick who ever you are most comfortable with and just enjoy the turbo grin!!

Vernon Motorsports have the cat dealership now but it is brand new to them, so boosting would even be newer. Is the guy in Prince George a cat dealer??I know he has Yamis. I just want to make a good choice right off the bat. How much were your kits installed. What I know about installing and fuel setup on a turbo would fit into the *** of an ant...and roll around like a marble in a boxcar:nod::nod:...Thanks again for all of your help....Terry

I heard something about Sibler??? In one forum his was about $3500 and would run up to 12lbs That should be good for about 250-260 hp ??But there is no cat info on their webpage, only poo and I don't trust the 800 motor from them:scared::scared::scared:....way to many problems

The guy i was talking about in pg is just a turbo dealer for twisted turbos. Im not sure what install costs as i installed mine. It was a learning process and am glad i did cause now if something comes up on the mountain i have a clue where too look. If you want a dealer installed turbo i would call rory at shuswap extreme in salmon arm they install mostly cpc turbos and im sure mr cutler will have a very nice kit for these 2012's as well. Rory and his guys out at shuswap are real stand up guys and i bet you could pobly work out some kind of a package deal outta him. Vms is like a deer in the headlights when you mention turbo cat. Jmho

They did all the work on my nytro except clutching. And I know that Nick is sticking with Yami stuff, so I would think one would get a better deal with a complete package. Is there any reason for a tunnel swap on these cats?? And how about the rear skid for the moguls???I really like a great ride for my back and don't like putting down the trails. Thanks again Terry

Well i dont think anyone can really comment about the handling on the 12 m8's as there is no production ones out there. But if they are anything like the older m8's im sure there is room for improvement in suspension. And for the tunnel you shouldnt have to change it unless you wanted a 174 or you had money to burn for a blingin' tunnel. What are you riding right now?

Apparently they have addressed the trail manners for the new 2012 sleds. Shuswap Extreme installed the turbo in my 2010 M8 and did a really nice job. I would recommend them anytime as they are excellent to deal with. Rory is the man, he just got back from the show and has lots of information on the new sleds for 2012.

I sold my turbo nytro. It had the CR tunnel(the first with krinkle finish) Mcx rear mount, timbersled front and rear suspention, with added extra valves for more pressure, wide simmons(which everyone laughed at( but now have) camo 156x 16" x2.5" with avid drivers, under tunnel exhaust...you get the picture I think. I would be looking for any suspention help for a great ride:light::light:I have heard things about K-mod???and holtz??? Where could I find some pics of cats with tunnels??? I really like the pics of the new 1500 cc monster found in Performance Mod. Now that is an awesome look:face-icon-small-coo:face-icon-small-coo Thanks again fellas Terry

turbo cat

Talk to darren at all season motor sports out of Cranbrook. 1-250-426-4009. He owns the cat dealer there and is very knowledgeble with the turbos. him and his mechanic build and ride them. he has experiance with twisted and boondocker kits and has been unbeilivable to deal with.
