2 LOST IN ALBANNY AREA SEARCH IS ONGOING

The Facts
The trip was supposed to be a quick one.
Ap just finished a rail extension on his XP and Paul just got his sled back from Felkers with a new motor and wanted to log some break in miles. Adam said it was clear and beautiful one second and bad the next. They hunkered down that night due to no visibility and had a fire and waited till the morning. When I believe Pauls sled wouldnt start due to frozen carbs. They doubled up on Adams 136 till it ran out of gas. For those that know Adam its true. He now rides a long track. Weather turned and they started walking. Second night was spent in shelter with no fire. Paul said he heard the first group from Tri City drive by that morning and he started to try to get closer and wave his arms. Search and Rescue was just ahead of us and saw Paul. We got Paul and Adam to the old log shelter and got them some water and food. Search and Rescue doubled them out to Albany Lodge. Adam went to the Hospoital with a low body temp and Paiul hung out in the Lodge till his toes turned purple and he headed in to have them looked at.

As it turns out, I ended up in the same hospital room as Paul last night. He was moving his toes ok, Adam went home.
Hospital room? Dan? Yup, I was going to load up and join the search yesterday morning, but my appendix decided this was the day it wanted out! Had surgery at 5pm and as they wheeled me back into my room, there was a young man with his feet all wrapped up. He told me of the adventure, same as what Snojunky has posted.

I am sorry to see people dont want to hear the posssible truth about 9 empty beer cans in the truck with 3 full ones left behind and then Albany lodge not coming fourth with info about the 2 going in and having a drink, then deciding to go riding. face it the truth hurts and drinking and riding can kill you.. go ride and then have a drink. If you dont have a spot device think twice if the money spent on one this worth your life. Give thanks to the people who went out to look for someone they didnt even know, then go out and look for two stranded hunters yesterday. Didnt see tricycles people helping out on that rescue, got their friends out loaded up and went home, Sar was right back at it

The above is what concerns me. "POSSIBLE" doesn't mean fact.

As for empty beer cans in the truck....there are always empties in our trucks. We stop and pick up litter we see....which is typically always beer cans. Yes, we clean out the backs of our trucks, but there is a never ending supply of empties tossed out everywhere. I wouldn't care for someone assuming that the hubby and I drink and drive because of us picking up litter.

I don't know any facts of what these guys did or did not do....just stating that empty beer cans don't really mean much (unless someone was there and witnessed those cans becoming empty).

I'm just happy that they are both out alive and safe. :)

really???cuz you made it up here in this case so that shoots your credibility here.......
Well then I was lied to by the Sheriffs office and other riders that saw them the night before. Sorry I made that up!!
P.s. firecat, when you coming out this year? I would love to guide you one day!! That is if you're up for it, you talk some pretty bad game bud, let's see how bad a$$ of a rider you are.

really i was talking big game???what are you 12? could you please show me where i was talking big game..........my point is you posted that they where in this spot from alcohol!! and that was before they even found them...well how many people read that on sw and never gave it a second thought about helping????

and yep im a flatlander you nailed that one!!!!!

How about we all just chill it and give up on the I heard this or that from whoever, whether it be the sheriff or a pink elephant. Hopefully before too long, one of the two guys who actually were stranded out in the cold for two nights can give us all some points to consider, and share whatever lesson may have been learned with all of us.

The "I did this and this is how it turned out" posts are about 100x more valuable to me than calling each other names and speculating about what the lessons might be...

Alcohol or no Alcohol that is a scary situation!!! If it is in fact true that they were a little intoxicated upon leaving the lodge I would hope that near death experience will be enough to make them think the next time they head out. Life is just a big learning experience for everybody, with that said I am sure glad they were found in a timely manner props to all the were able to help in the search wish I didn't live 3.5 hrs away or I would have gone with out question alcohol involved or not!!!!!!!

Thanks M1. I was over visiting Adam and asked that very question. I have learned alot from this situation. I hope others have also. To the others,Whether or not they stopped for a drink shouldnt even be an issue. They were not trashed or even close after a beer or two. People shouldnt pass bullsh&%$ on if they dont know. For christ sake the sled hasnt been recovered yet. How does anyone know. And by the way I havent had a drink in 15 years and there are emptys in the bed of my truck. Grow a life dude. I think its interesting when people try and make a bad thing out of a bad thing. Are you that unhappy in life?

If you had of posted it on here I would have come. Ive watched everynews cast and I havnt heard crap. Who do you think your are making accusations like that about Tri-City. Did you call the news like they did. Did you post it here like I did. Your a fricked idiot if you think sittin on your arse an whineing is gonna help anything. Get the word out so people can help. Your Pathetic

All you boys need to sit around in a cirlce and sing kum ba ya to each other. Kuddos to the ones that went out and helped in the search, I'm sure that the Search and Rescue was very appreciative of you effors and the fact that those two boys are back safely can be directly attributed to your efforts.

Amazing that people want to bash people and all the other crap when they werent there and dont know the fact........one or two beers and maybe a drink at the lodge does not make a person trashed especially when its over several hours.

And why judge or blame or say anything about what Tri-City Cycles did when they had been searching for 2 days and they found the missing ones and left. I've been on the 9news website several times this week and never have seen anything about missing hunters.

thanks snowjunky, hell all i got was a text from adam!!!

and not only is FCG a flatlander he's a parking lot poser too
