Is the rear skid from a 2018 Hardcore 153 the same as the regular M8000? Are the holes in the tunnel in the same location?

I’m building a sled based off a 2017 Yamaha Sidewinder which shares the same suspension as the M8000 but I came across a Hardcore skid for sale and not sure if they’re the same, haven’t followed Arctic Cat stuff for awhile. Asking because the jig was already built based off the sidewinder chassis.

Thanks.

2017 sidewinder doesnt have the long chaincase,i think long chaincase rear suspension fits short chaincase chassie
but not the other way around.

That should work then.

It was actually a 2016 Sidewinder chassis I used for the jig. Per my dealers recommendation I built the jig using the lower front arm hole(had 2) and middle rear arm hole(had 3). He said that provided best handling. My driveshaft is dropped 0.5” straight down from the Sidewinder factory position.

Another question.

The suspension is suppose to be from a 2018 M8000 Hardcore. It’s a 153 with Fox Float QS3 shocks(both shocks are) and has green rails.

From all of the googling I’ve done I cannot find a Hardcore skid that had green rails and QS3 shocks. Looked at 2017-18-19 on Google images.

Can anyone confirm if there was indeed a model of Hardcore that had the Float QS3 shocks and green rails? Wondering if it is infact a Hardcore skid or a regular M8000 skid.

Weird. Used suspensions in good shape are impossible to find in Alaska so I bought it. It was on eBay and supposedly had less than 300 miles on it. I’ll have to post a pic of it when I get it.

Bumping this back to the top. Trying to verify suspension arm differences.

Just to be clear, a 2018 153 rear suspension should bolt right in to all Mountain Cats 2016+ correct?

BDX said suspension arm geometry was different prior to 2018 which now has me doubting if a 2018 would bolt into a 2016?

From what I could find searching the forums it sounds like suspension arm geometry 2016+ was the same only the rail mounting changed with the D&R.

Sorry for all the questions. I have double checked all my notes and my tunnel is a 2016 Yamaha Viper MTX 153 tunnel which is same as 2016 M8000 AC. Want to make sure the 2018 suspension I bought will bolt up or if I should have looked for a 2016.

Thanks

a 2018 skid will bolt into a 2012+. rail profile changed in 2016 so if you wanted the new profile in a 2012-2015 and wernt changing the whole skid youd need rails, front shock and rear pull rod. profile is the same for the dropped case in the mountain cats just the front of the rails are shorter so they dont hit the drivers.

Ongoing project. Turbo Nytro motor, tube chassis based on cat mountain geometry, apex drivetrain, under 400 lbs (the goal anyway).
