174x2.5 or 162x3 on a Turbo PRO

What way is the better route?
I was thinking the 162 x 3
But know leaning to the 174
My sled is really getting dialed know, but even with the coupled suspension it stands rite up on end when climbing.
Thinking maybe the little extra length should help.
Dont want to go to the 174x3 my buddy has one and it is a big heavy track.
Really want to get rid of the stock track. With turbo power I feel the stock track is not up to the task.

What track are you guys running?

I ride in the West. If you want to get to the top, there is only one throttle position. We have what is called mountains:focus:

What skid are you running? Sounds like you need to work on skid setup if your having trouble keeping the front down with a coupled skid... The 3" track is only gonna make ski lift way worse.

Running a Kmod with Fox floats and straight rails.
Turned the coupling adjuster to #4 that is max coupling.
I dont think I have any other adjustments.

Haha very funny. What are mountains? I guess I've never seen those. I guess I don't know what a truck and trailer is either? I just bought a 155 for ditch banging...yeah right!

Call Kevin @ K-Mod 208-681-0348. He can help you set up your skid. First i would try pulling your limiter straps up. My K-Mod has worked very well since I got it dialed in for climbing. I’m running 12-14psi. I have the 163 2.5(wish I had the 3) Camo C/E seems to work very well on my sled in all conditions. You will probably loose some track speed with the 174 but it would be like a tractor when climbing. Also you may have to tweak your clutch setup a bit.

Either way gonna cost, depends on your riding preferences. I've got a 163""x3" track, extrovert drivers, stock RMK skid, with something McGyvered on the limiter strap (lol, Rear suspension coupling system). Don't think they sell them but it adjusts the limiter strap easily with one wrench. Keeps the front end down while climbing and when you pin it on the flat. Seems like a poor mans fix but it works. Time will tell how things work and hold up with it. Front end does come up on occasion, as you can see, but that's the turbo.

Having been on a pro with a kmod at 16lbs I know you can setup a Kmod to weld the skis to the ground if you want. Call Kevin and get it setup right. More track is just gonna make it worse.

Running a stock engined 163 x 3 on a 12 pro and love it. Had a dragon with a turbo and 174 x 2.5 before that. Prefer the 163.

Agree with others. A better track is only going to make ski lift worse. Try adjusting air pressures in the floats. It will keep the front end down. As far as tracks go. If you can fit it. The 3" is impressive. Would rather have a 156x3 over a 174x2.5 anyday unless all you do is straight up climbs.

I am running the 162 x 15 x 3 on my silber pro at 10 Lbs. ALso running a stock skid, with straight rails, and full ZBroz X1 suspension. The only thing that the 3" is not amazing at is in the trees just going sideways... she always wants to spin and point you straight uphilll and go lol

Had my sled on the truck beside my buds (same yr and model) and we were comparing the suspensions. it seems i have a limiter strap that limits the travel of the rear of the skid. Dunno how it works but with this and the above seems to keep my skis on the snow when u pin it or are climbing. Scratching my head now trying to figure how the two work together to keep the skis down.
