156 m10 vs. 162/174 m10

since camoplast is coming out with a 156 3 incher, seems like a good combo of maneuverability with traction galore. On a boosted yammie do you guys think a 156x3 with a good m10 skid will pull chutes or will it still wheelie no matter what skid due to shorter track and high hp? i think that with 300+hp a 156 is gonna wheelie, but then again i do not have any experience with cr10 or m10 skids

I feel the 156X3 will be a Boondocking dream

I think a 156x3" with an M10 style coupling skid would work alot better than with out. Would probably climb better than a 162x3" without an M10. One of the guys we ride with runs a 155 Baker skid in his turbo pro, it does very well climbing.

Duke what's your opinion on a 162x3" compared to a 174x3" both with an M10? Is 350hp too much for a 162 with M10 to keep the front down?? If it's not a huge fresh powder day will a 162 keep up with a 174?

IMO, no comparison to a 174x3". A 162x3" is no small track either, very capable track..

This is apples to oranges, but I do remember reading about Amber Holt trying to go to a 156" track on her boosted cat. They couldn't make the timbersled work for her, it would wheelie out no matter what they tried. I think they ended up with a kmod to keep the front end down.

Anyhow...I think the point is, yes its probably doable with an M10 if that is the direction you want to go.

next year ill be running a 156 3 inch with a k mod skid and a skinz front end bolted to a built impulse nytro . Hope its as fun as i think its gonna be friend of mine has a 144 mcx nytro and its a blast ! just needs a decent skid . hope the k mod works out . still looking at a baker m10 though . good thing i have all summer to think about it

go with the baker they work the same & you can save some money,it actually more adjustable if you get the mag blocks & quick ajust limit staps.the 3 inch is a easy decision if you ride allot of deep snow go 3 if not 2.5 its crazy how much more traction you get with the 3 inch.

i run two shims on the 156 Timbersled to make it couple much quicker, Seems to correct the wheelie problems

I got a good timbersled with the exits I shimmed it but not friendly to adjust quickly for different conditions, plus I don't think it will work well with big boost

put it in a chute like monster with 3ft of pow & 15+lbs of boost & they just arnt in the same league that way they do work but only to a point.

The question is with 3ft pow, big boost for all the track speed you can get, will an m10 skid and a 156 3 incher make it feasible to pull the monster?

I think the answer is that if any skid can pull it off, the M10 is your best bet.

Oh ya it is the best on the snow but I figure 25lbs of boost might still wheelie over due to shorter leverage compared 162/174

any idea what the baker is gonna cost you ? the Kmod just seems to be a good option for 2500 bucks ready to bolt in .With a baker you need a stock 153 skid and youre still stuck with all the stock parts other then the arm and shock .

I have a 2 stock skids at home, but I'm pretty sure baker will build nearly complete suspension minus rails which iceage can do

yes they do, but a complete one gets pricey too, but i like them better than the m-10 lighter & more ajustible.it will work in 3ft of pow with a 156 but will take more skill,watched scooter do it with a 2.5 155 on his pro but he had to work it.
