153 powerclaw on a 155 dragon cando?? (AND PRO Chassis)

If you wanted to run a 151" on a 155.. you would have to cut off the tail of the rail and the idler wheel mount and install the kit from Avid (Holz doesnt make it any more.
OR get custom rails and sell yours. The custom rails will cost about $125 more than you can sell your old rails for.

These use the stock axle but need 8" idlers.

what is the true difference between 2.52", 2.86" and 3" pitch on the drivers and can i use my 2.52" pitch drivers for a new polaris 155" with the 2.86" pitch and have it work fine?

If you are running the Powerclaw, I would recommend the 7 tooth if you want to get the most out of the track and not loose hp to a choked off tunnel... the stock clearance is poor to start with.

Here is a photo of a tunnel (upside down) showing the rubbing of a STOCK 2.4" track on the tunnel... Polaris did not put much thought into the clearance of the track in this area.

I went out and looked at my 08 600 since I happened to have the skid out and at the powder coaters and sure enough my track has been rubbing on the front 8" of both two coolers. Makes me glad that I am deciding to trim the nubs off the track to make it about a 2.15" down from the 2.4". Also adding three 1" screws in each paddle. Just waiting for them arrive, then I am ready for the snow.

So if a guy was to run 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers, could you squeeze it in there? The 8 tooths look like a no go.

Sounds like your better off getting a 163 if you want to run the Powerclaw.

Chris Kasel at Carls doesn't like running Anti-ratchet drivers and was having special Powerclaw specific drivers being made but the company that was making them is no longer making them. This was as of a couple weeks ago. He was hoping to have another source for them soon.

Jack and the crew Carl's haven't liked combo drivers for a while...

It dates back to the old days of multi ply tracks, Wahl "no-slips" etc...Back then... I agree that, back then, they were not as efficient as the involute only stock drivers.

I'd like to see if they have evaluated/compared (on the sleds) this new AVID driver, with stock track tension, on a single ply track with Anti-stabs installed... It really is that much better.

Wow... SLP and Wahl have both discontinued the involute sprockets for the 3" made by PPD in addition to Carl's...

Looks like Carl's may be running the new style Avids if they are liking the Power Claw that Jack was so excited about last season... hmmm... or running a different track now??
