13 Pro Recall?

$.02

They're assembled (made) in Roseau Minnesota. You would be hard pressed to find any union in Roseau or Thief River Falls for that matter. They make $12-$15 an hour I am told. Many leave for better pay else where. When something like this happens why is assumed by some, that it's the workers fault? I am sure, some of you geniuses would never think it could be management or engineering. The Polaris Technical Service Bulletin clearly states that this is due to an "incorrect assembly process".

My comments were directed at the guy who assumed it was cheap labor that caused the problem. I was just basically giving an example of why companies leave the country. I know management screws up, the company I work for is currently fixing a $160,000,000 screw up due to horrible management decisions. And that number is still climbing!

So how long before dealers have parts and I can pick up my sled that Polaris required me to pay for already?

My dealer let me pick mine up and I just need to send the A-arms in when they arrive. The parts were being sent out this week, so should be any time now.

They have to run your VIN# first to see if your sled is in the service bulletin range. You paid for your sled before you received it????

I picked up my sled on Friday. My dealer said there wasnt a whole lot of sleds shipped before polaris put out the bulletin. So its a small percentage that needs fixed. Let it snow!

Recall

Picked mine up last Friday. Dealer checked and mine needs to have the repair and of course no parts in yet.

The dealer said he is the only one that would get paid for the warranty work and insinuated I can't take it to a dealer closer to me?

Is that true? I have a dealer 4 miles away and the one that I bought the sled from is 90 miles away.

If you take to another dealer, they have to pay for the time out of their own pocket, I dout you will find many dealers willing to do so.

Im in the same boat, Im taking my A-arms off and shipping them to the dealer when the parts come in. See if yours will let you do the same.

A-Arms

That's the way I left it with my dealer as well. Is it just the lower A-Arm and not the spindle? They are going to redo the connection to the sway bar, is that right?

I believe repressing some bearings into the lowers and sway bar connection thats about it.

You have until 2014 to get this done, personally Im not to worried about it.

So I get a text this morning from a friend who is also a Polaris mechanic. He said the 13 Pro is already being recalled for a problem with the lower A-arm.

He could be pulling my leg because I have 2 on order but if it is true there should be some others on this forum that can confirm or deny??

And belt drive issue , The plastic belly presses up into the belt and needs a shield to take impact,

Polaris is paying the dealerships 1.2 hrs to put the new a-arms on per unit. So they are not working for free. And I'm surprised your dealer is doing that. That is a big no-no from Polaris. They should pay you for the labor then! Ha

Yea, of course they get paid for labor thats not intended from factory. The hard part isnt taking the A-arm off, its having the bearing repressed.

I would happly take 15mins and send them instead of driving 2hrs to my dealer.

Just thought I would throw this out there.

My 2013 Pro RMK was built 08-28-2012 and was not in the recall.:clock::clock::clock:

This is correct.
