13 Pro Recall?

So I get a text this morning from a friend who is also a Polaris mechanic. He said the 13 Pro is already being recalled for a problem with the lower A-arm.

He could be pulling my leg because I have 2 on order but if it is true there should be some others on this forum that can confirm or deny??

I'd be willing to bet he is fooling with you...

Think about it...they've been running those a-arms last year and wouldn't they have come across a defect then and not now when there is no snow???

More likely to be recalled for some sort of manufacturing defect versus an issue with a part that's been field tested.

Just my $0.02.

There is a recall that came out to all dealers today about the front suspension lower A-Arm replacement. The concern is the stabilizer bar mount brackets on some sleds may loosen due to incorrect assembly. That’s why sleds are being delayed. All units that are being shipped now have this issue corrected; this recall just affects sleds already delivered.

Parts will be shipped to dealers at the end of the month.

Thanks for the info! You just saved me a whole bunch of driving.

I was told it was the glue holding the sway bar mount to the lower A arm was "improperly applied" and they have a list of serial numbers to replace and have remedied the ones that haven't shipped. No idea how many sleds were affected.

Hmmm, where is the Poo factory, still in the US or is it gone to Mexico now?
Regardless, obviously unqualified labor is putting these things together. The first glued suspension arms ever, I am SURE there is a proecedure for building them, so either someone doesn't care when assembling or they are not smart enough to follow directions. Perfect example of this country, everyone wants to pay the cheapest labor, then it costs them more in the long run......

Devilmanak,
If I was the manufacturer I would go for the cheapest labor too. I worked in a union, it doesn't matter how skilled you are, the dumbest MF'r in the shop gets paid the same as the smartest guy in the shop. So, why pay more for skilled labor when your getting the chitty labor right along with it. This will probably pi$s some people off, but what would you do if you were the owner trying to make a profit. I'm all about keeping jobs in the states, but people are crazy!! They think they are skilled laborers worth $35/hr because they know how to install clips on a door panel of a car all day long or in this case glue together an A-arm.

In our pursuit for quality, performance and the best customer experience possible we are asking your dealership replace
the front lower control arms on some 2013 600/800 PRO RMK snowmobiles. We are asking you to replace the front
lower control arms because it is possible the stabilizer bar mounting brackets on some vehicles may loosen due to an
incorrect assembly process. The majority of these units are in dealer inventory now, although a small number have
already been delivered to consumers. - POLARIS

This post should not piss anyone off unless they are the ones? This is a good post and I completely agree with it. Thank you

Received a letter that mine is one of them that requires the update. They did include a $100 voucher good for Polaris accessories or oil for the inconvenience.

Yes, not all got that though. Depends on when it was delivered.
