went riding today for the fifth time this year but first five in two years. I was an avid sledder a few years back just switched it up for a few years. im now riding a stock 98 rmk700 and this things is a joke to try and ride with my buddies on there pros. stuck fest on a 136 and not much base and wears me out riding. my dealer has a used 13 600 for 8000 and will give me 1000 trade in on my sled. I used to ride an 08 rmk 600 and loved the engine never had a problem with it and it went every where I wanted. am I going to be satisfied with the pro 600? I do mostly tree dancing so not really worried about the ponies on the big climbs. is this a decent price? what should I look out for?

very happy with our pro 600's ... probably going to look for another pair in the spring to leave at our cabin ...
we ride 0 to 2500 so not high altitudes but quick and steep and occasionally deep. 600 never seemed to lack for power in our conditions and 1000 miles on each one last season with no issues + decent on fuel.

Rode my 600 today. At 9000' it will go anywhere my 800 goes, not quite as fast. It just seems easier on the 600 to side hill etc. I choose to ride the 800 most of the time, but the 600 is great.

Have a 13 600 rmk..........it is great keeps up with the 800's fine unless your doing drag races or trying to go straight up a steep hill. Also, 5000 miles and never missed a beat!

depending upon mileage, that price may be a little steep, but with a trade it may be in line (i usually dont play the trading game so i dont know how that all works). if money allows, i would try and get the sled for somewhere closer to $7000 and sell your current sled privately.

i shopped for a month or so this fall looking for a 600 rmk or rmk pro for my wife. i found alot of them, but most were rentals that had high mileage (and they still wanted $7500+ for them. i ended up with a 2012 pro 155'' with 700 miles for under $7000, extra belt, high/low elevation clutching, and polaris tunnel bag.

there obviously is only a fraction of info on the 600s compared to the 800s, but most of the chassis stuff is the same. and to the best of my knowledge, the 600 engine is the same as they have been using for a while now.

- stand behind the sled, close one eye, and look down both sides of the tunnel. look for any ripples in the sides. they are a known weak spot.

- the drive shafts on the 13s had some issues where glue was separating (mostly heard about this on 800s, maybethe 600 had issues too, i dont know)

- glue on the a-arms letting loose on 13s

- if it is a "pro" rmk, make sure to run scratchers on the trail. from what i have read, they tend to run on the warm side due to lack of a front cooler on the pro edition.

Bought my 15 rmk 600 with estart at a dealer sticker price of $8599. Tax and mi title I was out the door under $10k. Very very pleased. Your dealer price for the used rmk might be a bit much. I'd do what bocephus said and negotiate lower and sell current privately.
