Has anyone made a cold air intake for there 1100T ? If so do you have pictures.

Yes, does it help, no. Not from a cooling down the intake charge standpoint. Have a temp probe before and after the intercooler. Charge temps going in are 300ish degrees, coming out 200ish. Bypassing the stock intake doesn't make those temps any better. Want your charge temps better get a better intercooler, a fan, or a turbo with a bigger compressor. That tiny compressor on the stock turbo creates a ton of heat.

madmax have you done charge temps on the Big Chute kit? That must really lower charge temps correct? Bigger compressor, bigger intercooler and for a couple hundred bucks a fan kit.

I wouldn't say it would show on a dyno per se, but it does help with the throttle response, and colder air never hurts. I ditched the headlight and built an intake plenum. It ducts into the factory intake elbow. The Ltd is a BD kit. It is a 3" and the factory is a 2.5" so there are a couple ways to make that happen.

Not specific, new part that is not a perforated can. It has wire rods that collapse when you push on it. I'll post a pic later, it's not on the site last time I looked.

Any weight loss to be had with these with the stock hood?

Depending on your comfort level all the under side of the factory plenum can be cut off. I use a dremel or air tool with a cutting wheel. Filter is gone and all plastic that holds it. Maybe a couple lbs at most. The biggest benefit might be that it creates a lot more area on top the motor for better air flow thru all the venting.

The Ltd has the factory plastic 90 elbow cut down to almost vertical with no curve. Almost goes straight up thru the hood. Used a straight piece of 2.5" silicon hose to go into the 3" silicon inlet on the cage. Had to put a 1" chuck of 2.5" stainless pipe inside the 2.5" so I could clamp the 3" to the 2.5".

The kits I'm putting together this year are going to be with that cage and sock but with a 90 silicone elbow to move it farther back coming thru the hood. I haven't had a headlight for 5 years but I know lots still use them so I wanted it further back.

I have a couple dozen on order with about 10 already sold. If you want more infor pm or email me.

My local auto parts store is where I got that stuff. They are actually intake parts. If i remember right i only have $20 in the reducer and 90. It's a 2 1/2" to 3" reducer and then a 3" inch 90 with the 3" BD filter. It's just like the one Justboostit has a picture of.

Im not at home but now that I think about it I think the factory plastic 90 might be smaller than 2 1/2" so might be off on that side of it...... Can't remember
