It must have maybe even rained a little over sat nite? Was a funky crust on top of the pow with a little fresh on top of that. Not enough to mess up your line...but you could hear it chunking up as you rode.

First half of the day it was freezing the outside of everyones goggles.

Going to make for a funky layer...something to watch.

Not that I know of. It was super windy and the snow seemed a tad wetter and heavier than usual. No crust where we were but you could tell that it was setting up fast.

My trailer & sleds were stolen years ago & my auto policy only covered 1k towards the trailer. You need seperate policies for the sleds & trailer. Not sure how towing your buddies sleds would work?

Why would Auto insurance cover the sled and trailer?

Why do I have separate policies for these?

A decent Ins. Co will cover if the trailer and contents if it was attached to the insured truck that wrecked. Some companies won't pay, therefore additional coverage is needed. I also carry extra ins in case one of those trees gets in my way.

So If I have a million dollar payload...simply strapping it to my truck insures it?

I have never heard of that.

I was even told that if my sleds or trailer where in my garage...and my house burned down. They would not be replaced under home owners insurance.

I agree with tudizzle on this one...it is my understanding any vehicle with it's own powerplant while being towed/stowed will not be covered and needs to have its own policy.

That's what I have been told anyway:)

I have everything insured for the max dollar and min deductible just in case something like this happens:)

Hope everyone was alright...

i have to insure my trailor along with licensing it every year.
also my sleds are insured. they run about $220.00 a year for the m1000 w/$500.00 deductible .
I think insuring your sled is the responsible thing, along with all the medical you get with the policy.not to mention you are protecting yourself against any lawsuits.

Most insurance companies only cover a small dallor amount, if any for trailers and loads. If you want good coverage you need to get insurance for the trailer and sometimes the load seperatly.

My sled is insured by my homeowners insurance while in the garage. When I setup my policy it was declared that it was stored there, just like jewelry and electronics in the house get covered. If you don't tell them you keep it there then it won't get covered by homeowners but should still be covered by its own insurance.

Ask your agent the questions on coverage because every company is different.

You would only have liability coverage for the trailer being towed if it were hooked up to your insured truck. Trailer and sleds would need to have their own policies.
