09 m8 sno pro schooled us today

Well that pretty much settles it... no sense comparing apples to apples (sleds of the same track length) looks like we should all go green.

What were we thinking?

I am not saying the xp's are bad because they are good sleds as are the new dragons, however, the new cat runs real good this year. The new powerclaw works real well in the soft snow. I am not saying the cats rule the roost.

Hi guys how powerclay holds in set up snow because here in WA snow is like concrete right now .Thanks. PS I think BRP should do some make over to xp, they are harder to handel compare to rev,Ms,dragons. I hope economy will improve this year:confused: so I can sale my Xp:eek: and buy new M8:).

get rid of the reverse cut helix and it will be a differnt story:eek:

How does a heavier sled with less track speed out go your XP's??

our buddy bought a m8 162 and we rode today in the horns and that baby goes--doesnt carry a lot of track speed[37 mph] but it gets on the snow and showed all our 154 doo's how to climb--it just keeps going like the energizer bunny well except when you need the doo bottom end;) power, you have to think a little more ahead when riding it because it does not have the throttle response of the doo--but it whipped on us all day

Wow!

Those are some awesome pics!!! I've been sittin at home for weeks thinking the riding was bad all over, boy was I wrong! How far are you from Idaho Falls, and can I go next time??? =) serious...

154x16= 2464 xp

162x15= 2430 m8

Your spanish conversion...:eek:

Argument doesn't fly,longest track to longest track,if Cat wanted to use a 16 wide they could! BTW.........just read the about Idaho Avy,be safe guys there are way to many people dieing this year.............I love snowmobiling but not enough to die for it

Hey TA! I think the new cut down tunnel and flat heat exchanger make a huge difference on the 09 m's. The old stuff just drug through the deep.

I call BS on that. That new cat bumper only comes into play when the sled is laid over on a sidehill. On point and shoot there is no difference which is what the pics looked like.

Haha, i doo like how the 16 vs 15" track goes out the window now. Its not physically possible for a 16" wide to fit in the god damn delightful M chassis.

My 09 M8 with a 162 and slp pipe will turn 45mph track speed at 9000ft in a hard climb in soft snow. I climbed against 4 xp's 3 weeks ago in real soft snow and I outclimbed every one of them and two of them were 163's. My buddies XP did the second best and it has the 154, I was not impressed with the 163's. If your buddy wants to make that 09 M8 even better than install the slp pipe and he will really like it. It makes the midrange and topend much stronger. My buddy on his 09 xp and my cat are neck and neck in a race with mine finally taking him when we are wide open by a tiny bit.

you know better is always the enemy of the best... he is going to put a cutler turbo on it!:eek::D

in 2004 i put a 159 series 4 poo track on my rev and it was a noticable improvement--i think length is more important than width--we have seen that--i also think cat got the track and geometry better than doo this year--i wish we had the 06 suspension under our xp's-thats just and opinnion----as far as the reverse cut helix we had xp's with straight cut helixs and they were not as good as ours in the snow--:confused::D
