I dislike posting "what is it worth" threads but I searched the for sale - chassis and this IQ forum and have not really found anything to give me an idea.

I ran across a 2009 IQ 700 RMK 155 chassis for sale complete but with the motor in pieces sitting under the hood. Seller assures me it is in great condition overall, and the couple pics I have reviewed seem to confirm this.

Assuming the motor is junk and probably not even a core, what is this chassis worth? It is a dealer who is selling it and they took it "on trade" so their asking price is high but they have indicated some flexibility.

I know complete running 700s are selling for as low as 3300 (actually for sale and not selling it seems).

This may be more of a project than I should take on at this point, have to evaluate what my goal would be here...

Since I don't work on my own engines (other than maint.). If it were me, I'd price it as if I was replacing the motor with something like an IndyDan engine. His 700's are running $2495. If sleds complete and working are running $3300 and not selling, I'd price it as follows:

$2495 - motor
$1500 - rolling chassis
------
$3995

Reason for the higher price is the motor will be rock solid and with warranty. I price it as a premium and would increase the overall value (to me). This is just my thoughts and others may be completely different. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it. :face-icon-small-hap
