How is beaver creek right now? How much snow? And how stable is it? Possibly heading out this next week or next weekend. But only if the snow pack is safe. Bring in a bunch of first time mountain riders so I'm not taking chances since I'm responsible for them. Any body help me out?
You mean because of slides right now? I haven't ever been to either of those places. Only ever been to beaver, twice, and bull moose once. Heard quite a bit about hasler though. Is it fairly easy to find your way around?
Im thinkin we all need to use some extra caution right now fellas. Its been snowin non-stop since yesterday here in Dawson. I can only imagine what kind of snowload is on evry single slope that we climb out there right now. We just had 6 weeks of warm weather that made a serious thick crst t pile lots of pow on. So please be safe fellas.
A couple of us are headin in there 2 morow, any one else lookin to go for a ride. We were thinkin about silver sands maybe. leavin from john will post pics and vids 2morrow night. If anyone wants to meet up give me a ring 250-794-1160 2nite.Latre and ride safe everyone.
Cool let us know how the snow pack is. We canceled going to beaver for now. Just doesn't look or sound stable enough. How does a guy find silver sands? Where is the staging area?
You can park at Mt. Solitude, drive across the highway and follow the trail. The trail will go on for a few km's, turn off and follow a bush trail for a bit and the trail will take your into some awesome meadows and lakes.
I see that they got 21 cm the other night but my kids were there last saturday and there was only 3" of fresh. Going to hasler saturday Torque if you decide to change plans.
Calazon is a few km's(10- 15km?) west of the Mt. Solitude turn off. You turn right off the highway and follow a road across a bridge. There is a decent staging area to park and unload. Follow the road until km 7 and turn right and follow the trail. You can also follow the road to km 17 and turn left and follow the trial. I've only been there once, decent area to meadow blast and do a little climbing.
