08 xp 800 bog

Switch the DPM with your buddy first????/

Yep.... no change.
BRP is aware of the exact problem/symptoms I am having, there is some poor tolerances in the Mexican built carbs they have been using... Supposedly they have looked after it for the '09s.

something to do with some tolerances in certain orifices, the dealer said they tore them apart but could not see any visible differences from the good ones to the bad ones....

same problem i think

Thanks for the update yammy1320. I can not believe that they want $1700 for a problem that is theirs. I will live with it on my sled just because it only happens on the trail up. I will have to deal with it sooner or later though. I guess i didn't spend enough when i bought it. Yes it is a 08 800 x . Go's great except for that.

I would live with it too before I were to spend that kinda cash... but I'm gonna try a few things with the carbs first to see if I can figure it out first... I have bored and completely modified carbs in the past so I would be pretty surprised if it isn't fixable. Stay tuned. :)

BRP
Built in Canada.
But you have to live in the US to get any kinda warranty or service apparently!

I had exactly the problem you described earlier in the thread. I discovered it first ride out on my hold-over, new 08 XP. Took it to Motor Tech in Golden (I was in the area) and they told me exactly the same story. BRP had a bulletin on poor tolerances in a certain manufacturing run of carbs. They even had carbs in stock. New carbs (warranty in my case) and the sled was 100%. Sorry to hear you found out too late for warranty. I'd give them some grief, it's clearly a defect in the original product.

Good luck.
