If it makes 120 hp at altitude everyone would be happy...
Heck, if any of the brands 800's (Arctic Cat, Doo, Polaris) made 120 at altitude... everyone would be happy..
Those numbers in the 150hp ballpark, are Dyno numbers at, essentially, sea level.
Xtreme perf that has their Dyno at 6500 ft had the stock 08 800 RMK at about 110hp.
Heres a good article on Real HP at altitude.

After all that has gone on, advertising HP for the 800 is a "no-win" situation. If the number is too high, the naysayers will claim it's "B.S.". If it's too low, the naysayers will claim Polaris had to "detune" it to make it reliable. Regardless of any advertised number, if it made a "real" 148HP consistantly with no hiccups, bogs or other driveability problems, I don't think owners will be complaining.

Can anyone tell me if they know a dealer with a good mechanic to take these to, in the southeast WY area or northern CO? Or if they would let you do it yourself and just have them flash it? Had a lot of bad luck with shoddy mechanics at dealers in the past.
Is their mechanic pretty solid?, I am only 100 miles from there.
One has to wonder as to why POLARIS chose to NOT advertise a h.p. # for 2010 (800) as of yet ?????
Good info! The letter mentioned the SLP silencer still working with the fix. Anyone hear anything from the dealer meeting on if the full SLP pipe/can combo will still work?
