LOSS

THIS WEEKEND AT SPOUTSPRINGS WE LOST A YOUNGMAN 13 YEARSOLD HE WAS SKING AT ANDIES PRAIRE AREA THIS AGREAT LOSS OF LIFE HE WAS LOST 2 DAYS .MAY OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY.

MAYBE WE NEED TO GIVE JEFF SOME CELL PHONE NUMBERS FROM DIFFEREN T PEOPLE TO INSURE THAT THERE WOULD BE MORE PEOPLE INFORMED ABOUT EMERGECNIES. I KNOW THAT FIRST YOU SHOULD INFORM MORE PE0PLR TO INSURE THERE IS MORE HELP.

You must be well connected, alot of us did not know until Monday morning at 8 am. The outcome could have been different, had a few of us known. I agree we need to learn from this tragic death, and be better prepared if or when it happens again. Any ideas anyone?.......

I think search and rescue needs to get the word out to locals quicker. Either get a hold of the local fire department and ask if they know of anybody that sleds up there or something!! I know if are group was notified we could have had 20-30 sleds up there all night in 20 minutes and we know the area great! More communication from search and rescue is key! I live 15 min from there and I didnt hear about it tell Monday morning from Portland News whats that all about!!!!!!!!!!!!

IM NOT WELL INFORMED I JUST TRY TO PAY ATENTION OFF WHAT HAPPENS UP ON THE MOUNTAIN . IF I WAS INFORMED I WOULD HAVE ACT ON IT . LIKE REMBO 870 SAID HE WOULD HAVE ACTED. MAYBE WE NEED TO PUT SOME RESCUE DIRRECTION ON THE SNOWPARK AREAS . IWOULD THINK TTFS# ALSO TAMARAC INNS # WOULD BE A GOOD START WALLY IS WELL INFORMED IN WHAT HAPPENS ON THE MOUNTAIN.

I know quite a few from our riding group were planning on heading up, but we were told we couldnt go up, and then we heard that he was found. I agree that there needs to be better communication, there is a lot of guys here in the valley (besides myself) that would have loaded up and been up there ASAP. i think there needs to be a list of names and numbers of locals that know the area and are willing to go up and help should somethin like this ever happen again. A little preparation early can save a lot later......

from what i understand wally didnt even know tell monday. i read it on the ttf facebook page at around 830pm that sunday.

THAT IS WHY IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE LOCAL PHONE NUMBERS ON THE BATH ROOM SIDEING AT SNOW PARKS. QUICK RESPONSE OR THE ELGIN BOYS IVE SEEN WHERE THEY WOULD STEPUP TO THE PLATE. SPOUTS SKI LODGE.

You folks probably already thought of this, or maybe it just wouldn't work. But when I lived in Grant County a few years ago the Sheriff Depart seemed have knowledge of the local snowmobilers and would contact us in these type of situations. It seemed to work at the time.
