$.02 on 05 800 skidoo's?

I had one for two years great sled Got simmons skis great on that sled.Bossseat ,newer style bars and riser. Vent the hood every where you can! Gear it down a touch so it will hold the Rpm and belt life. I did port the track.
The best tree sled around, much better that the X-ps i thought.more reliaable too.2000 miles and i sold it ,was time for it to go as we all know the motors on all these 800 doo's are a time bomb,:face-icon-small-dis mine was good but most of my buddies not so good .We are all on Cat's this year tired of the x-ps issues, hope to see them fix all the issues but watched all my buddies last year and decided to jump ship late last year.
Keep the 05 rev motor fresh and enjoy its a fun sled:D just no promises on the motor.:face-icon-small-dis

Awesome sled but then again I'm a little biased! (See Avatar).
as stated earlier.

Check the carb boots for delaminating-new boots @ $70.

replace the crappy rings--Big John trail torquer kit will wake that sled up and take care of the ring problem too Check his web site for price--@ $250 ??

Riser and Boss seat for Excellent ride

Go to DooTalk.com and check out "mountain REV" section, look at "T Tabbs" thread for the exceessive oil use section--easy, free fix.

Excellent tree sled and a great climber too. Deep powder??? I dunno, I'm in Wa. and we don't really get what you'd call powder very often.

I love mine and will be riding it for years to come.

Can't find this thread...help?

That's a good, solid sled. Carb boots, rings, skis, put a can and clutch kit and ride it. Low maintenance once the above it taken care of. A very solid sled, follow was the above poster said and check out TTABS, everything you need is on there, step by step with pics. lots of things to mod on that sled and lots of parts available on swapmeet too, to keep costs in check. You can also download the 2006 rev shop manual for free on any peer to peer network (or buy the CD on ebay for cheap cheap)....so you'll have schematics and torque #'s for everything on that sled. I have an 07 rev, but ride with many 2004, 2005 and 2006 revs, all run strong with clutch tuning and info from TTABS/Big John trail torquer kit really helps unleash the potential of this motor/chassis combo.

04 REV-X-151, same as 05. Only thing I can add to all the other posts is to add Snow Eliminator running boards, D^J's clutch kit, Smitty's drop brackets and SLP can with ceramic coated stock pipe. I did have the rings changed out at 300 miles. I just checked my carb boots and they are good---only certain sleds have the boot problem but easy to check out.

love mine bought a boss high rise and a holz coil over. has a bunch of stuff to mine done wouldn't trad it for anything!!!!!!!! best tree sled Ive ever rode. put wiesco pistons in it runs alot better.

I'll add another post for an amazing sled. Me and three friends ride very similar sleds. If you take care of the few problems they had stock, they will run forever. And the mod options are almost unlimitted. They are a great sled, that you can make even better with a couple nights in the shop.

If I were to buy a new sled right now, I think I'd buy the exact same thing. So I won't be buying a new sled. LOL. I love this thing.

openig reply to you ad is faulty info. you can get a complete short block from your dealer for 1700 (everything but reeds carbs and head) great running asside from carb boots cracking and leaning out engine. thats a skidoo thing carbs need to be supported better. had a 700 with same problem

05 Revs

I have an 05 Rev that has been perfect, put new pistons and rings in at 1800 miles and it now has 2300. Runs very strong, these are great sleds. I am trying to sell mine because I have a new xp 163. I am asking 4600 for it in Eastern Idaho. You really cant go wrong with one. 208-317-1106

I put a viscious 2250 miles on my 05 151. Have gone through quite a bit of carb boots, heard the 07 boots are better though, i havent tried them yet. Will be rebuilding the motor though at 3000. The skis blow, but im cheap and bought a mountain tamer skid instead of skis lol. Got an 06 X seat, love it.. Removed sway bar and rear rack, lots of wheels taken away, lexan panels and a roller clutch soon to be a DJ kit!! Last year it didnt hold RPM in powder for **** so i recommend a clutch kit and gear it down from the get go. Easiest sled to carve and side hill if your a throttle happy rider imo.
