Tunnel Bag/Windshield Bag
There was a day when mountain snowmobiles had some storage, usually a small trunk area built into the seat. Then as the lightweight movement gained momentum we saw virtually all storage compartments disappear from mountain sleds. They’re making a small comeback but the more popular route is tunnel bags and/or windshield bags, which sledders usually decide are more important and useful than they would like to admit.
Wellers sells both and they are about equally popular, Weller told us.
For Polaris, the Lock & Ride tunnel back, with its 983 cubic inches of storage, is popular but so is the Polaris/OGIO tunnel bag. The semi-rigid Windshield Replacement Bag fits nicely in the front of the sled, tucking in right behind the windshield.
The popular bags at Wellers for the Ski-Doo Summit include the Tunnel Bag (40-liter capacity), Glovebox Extension (doubles the storage with an additional 4 liters of capacity) and LinQ Premium Tunnel Bag (which easily attaches to the tunnel and is semi-rigid and expandable).
Heavy-Duty Bumpers
That Weller sells heavy-duty bumpers isn’t too much of a surprise. That they’re one of the dealership’s most popular items, is. Maybe Utah sledders hit a lot of things? Or get stuck and need the extra strength of the bumpers to yank on to help get unstuck? Actually, that’s definitely not a Utah thing—it’s a riding-in-the-West thing. And knowing that sometimes the rear bumper on the Polaris RMK can break when you overly exert on it, a heavy-duty replacement is a good idea. And if the truth be known, most everyone gets stuck and needs to tug on the bumper many times a winter so having a bumper that is heavy duty and provides a better angle to hold on to while trying to pull or lift is a welcome change.
Bumpers, because they come in various colors, can also help a sled standout compared to a stock bumper.
Gas Can/Fuel Caddy
When it comes to Ski-Doo, it’s not a gas can, it’s a LinQ Fuel Caddy, and the really cool thing about the 3-gallon container is that it is so easy attach or take off the tunnel thanks to the Ski-Doo LinQ system. If you need to pack extra gas, and you own a Ski-Doo, then this is the ticket.
