1. Arctic Cat Alpha One 165
I’m a sucker for latest and greatest. Dirt bikes, mountain bikes, phones… if it’s new technology then take my money. That said, I’m all in on the Alpha One. I’m like a teenage girl in 2010, begging to hear anything by One Direction. I’m salivating at the chance to spend a full season on the Alpha One. I have to see what it can and can’t do within my repertoire of riding skills. I want to be in on the Alpha One shop talk. I don’t care if I get stuck every five minutes or climb everything in sight… the Alpha One is the first sled I’d buy for 2019.
2. Polaris 850 Pro RMK 163
The best ride of the season last year for me was mid-January. You’re probably thinking, “Uh, the snow sucked in mid-January.” Yes, it did, right up until 8am of the day I’m talking about. The biggest storm to hit thus far had just broke, leaving feet of powder so fresh you could still smell it. That day was the SnoWest staff’s intro ride to the 2019 850 Pro RMK, and what a day it was. And what a ride it was. Polaris fixed every gripe I had about the Axys RMK with the 2019 850 Pro RMK. Narrower front end? Check. Better shock valving and feel? Check. Easier lean initiation? Check. More power? Check. More deep snow thrust? Check.
