Lynx 2026: Bold New Shredders

February 2025 Feature, Industry News

Lynx just released its 2026 lineup, and we can't stop looking at the new Shredders.

For starters, Lynx has expanded the Shredder lineup to include a new Shredder Core model. The Shredder Core is avaialble in both 3700 (146-inch) and 3900 (154-inch) track lengths and features the 600R E-Tec two-stroke engine with standard electric start.

Jumping over to the 2026 Shredder DS and RE, Lynx has made several huge changes to these deep-snow sleds. The Shredder DS and RE both feature a new tunnel design. The new tunnel is shorter wtih a more aggressive taper and it's also narrower now at the tail end. And––it comes with a lightweight rear bumper!

The new tunnel is 7cm (about 2-3/4 inches) shorter on the 3900 (154 track) models, and 9cm (about 3-1/2 inches) shorter on 4100 and 3700 (165 and 146 track) models. The tunnel has an agressive taper vertically and also is narrower at the back end. The heat exchanger has been shortened as well, reducing weight and reducing coolant capacity.

The new tunnel desing features new running boards that are both higher and more open for better snow evacuation. The new running board design provides 20mm more ground clearance.

The 2026 Shredders feature a new PPS3-DS rear suspension. This infludes a more gradual angle of attack for better track approach, a straight rear rail profile for better grip and flotation, new rear link positioning, narrower slider shoes and new springs and shock calibration. The RE version gets lightweight shock springs and long rail reinforcements.

The PPS3-DS' updated design keeps the track more parallel to the chassis for improved sled control on sidehills. It also creates a more consistent track tension to reduce vibration and improve throttle response.

The Shredder DS gets lightweight rail beams to mazimize deep snow agility, while the Shredder RE gets reinforced solid rail beams for maximum durability.

Up front, the Shredders get a new Twin Link steering system and new 20mm taller spindle. The ski stance remains at 34 inches for the Shredder DS and 36 inches for the Shredder RE. The LFS-DS Twin Link steering system and spindle increase steering angle by 40 percent.

There's also a new Blade DSS ski that is 10mm narrower and 250 grams lighter. A new keel design makes is more precise and predictable with less negative rider feedback.

2026 Shredders also feature an ultra compact seat and lower 90mm riser for improved rider ergonomics.

All these changes and updates result in an overall weight reduction of 13 lbs (11 lbs dry weight, 2 lbs coolant) on the Shredder RE and 6 lbs (4 lbs dry weight, 2 lbs coolant) on the Shredder DS.
