End Goal
Our end goal with Project Mountain Cat was to build on the already capable sled, and improve it in every single department, weight, chassis, handling, suspension, and power. To do that we brought on a laundry list of sponsors who dedicate themselves to achieving those exact goals. Skinz Protective Gear supplied their concept front end, airframe running boards, free ride seat, and the most distinguishable upgrade, the Helium plastics which we will dive into later. SLP took charge of the power upgrades by re-working the already stout Arctic Cat 800cc power plant with their Stage 3 kit, a full pipe with a custom ceramic coating, and some incredible clutching work. To beef up the suspension Ice age bolted on some of their bullet proof bomber rails, while FOX outfitted the sled with Float 3 EVOL’s up front and their new QS3 shock in the back. To further lighten the sled up and let that power hit the ground MVM put their belt drive system on to ditch the heavy chain case as well as Camso suppling their light weight Conquer 280 track. This was looking to be the perfect recipe for the ultimate green machine backcountry slayer. The kind of sled you can ride as hard as you desire without showing the faintest sign of fatigue. The kind of sled you can huck off cornices and jumps with buttery smooth landings. The kind of sled you can put on the steepest tree lined slopes with ease and have the power to rocket out of any situation on demand. The kind of sled we dream about.
