ZX Help: 2001 to 2002 Tunnell

ok, I have a 2001 Summit 700. The rear of the tunnel is bent from a rollover. The sled works fine otherwise.

I have access to a 2002 Summit 800 Tunnel and bulkhead.

Will it fit? Didn't the 2002 have improved approach angles or something like that? Sorry for not being very technical.

Thanks for the help from the ZX gurus!!!

2002 vs 2001

Only change I am aware of is the skid was mounted 3.78 inches rearward. You may need drop brackets for the rear to maintain the same height. Most guys when doing this mod lowered the front mount .75" and lowered the rear about 2.75". Seemed to work well!

ok, so it should be better if i buy the parts from this 2002, correct? Do I just need the tunnel from the 2002 or do I need to get other parts since the skid will be farther back?

Thanks

Tunnels

I think the tunnels are the same except suspension mounting points.

01's had skinny running boards and in 02 they went to wide boards. That's one differnce. Not sure if that makes a diff but I know I like the wide boards over the skinny any day.

01/02

"144 rails become 151 when going from a 01 to 02"
Exactly! That is the reason for the 3.78" set back.

Rails

The 01 144 rails were mounted 3.78" rearward and the became the 02 151 rails, capiche?

The mount points on the tunnel changed a 2001 144 into a 2002 151 using the same rails.
