ZR8000 muffler shootout

Slp can jaws pipe. have the jaws pipe and can but would like to run the quieter can that I had before the jaws setup.

What about the spi can?
Or can/pipe combo, usel to have it but got great success with PC 5, key and spi can so don't run the pipe any more but would be really interesting to se if the PVC tune was of fore the pipe and I just got I right with the stocker on?!
The feel of the spi can is that it's more responsive in midrange but could of course just be the sound fooling me... ;)

Here's what we have for mufflers lined up for testing live on dynocams 12/1:

Diamond S, SLP, MPX, D&D, SanDale, MBRP, RumblePak, Jaws, BMP

Yes got the HPS can. but no MBRP yet. Guys who've sent stuff for me to test please email me (not pm) with name and what was sent, and I can get you access code or extension by tomorrow so you can watch if you like. Jim@dynotechresearch.com

I can't figure how to insert a jpeg (asking for a URL address and I'm clueless on that). So here's the best HP we got from each muffler. For tech details like weight/ dB/ airflow/ backpressure and graphic comparison showing midrange torque/ HP curves and overrev power I'll try to post that tonight or tomorrow on my website. Also we still have more testing to do since the MBRP muffler should be here this week, and we still have to test SLP and BMP mufflers (got lost in the shuffle). So far all mufflers are good and often power varies with backpressure but not always. Ran each muffler two or more times, with coolant varying from 115 to 125f. This is the best HP from each (except we don't count the first test of the day with stock muffler--that nice cool crankshaft and crankcase gives us extra HP we don't count here--heat soaked only). Not shown here is the stock muffler with an insert to make it more like the 2010 mufflers, will have that on my website. Plus we got the Jaws single combo dialed in with spot-on PCV and Boondocker maps. It's a good A-B test that can be compared to our 2011 pipe shootout.

STOCK 155.2

SANDALE 156.3
DIAMOND S (titanium) 160.8 (highest sea level backpressure of the cans)
MPX 157.2
D&D 156.8
SNOWSTUFF RUMBLE PACK 155.1
JAWS TRAIL 156.1
HPS 156.1

Phase 2 SLP, BMP, MBRP (and anything else we can get) next week?

Glad to hear you like it.

If anybody has any other questions about the MPX Performance can just PM me or email sales@mpxperformance.com . Im still selling these for only $225 ($250 shipped US and Canada) so its a great deal. This can did great on the dyno in terms of HP and sound, its lightweight at around 5.5 lbs, its repackable and the price is great too. Cant really beat it overall.

For anybody who havent seen it before, here are a few pics. Thanks again Jim for doing the test.

Mine has been wrapped with exhaust tape. You can touch it while running, keeps unwanted heat in compartment. Love the sound of this can!
