Zbroz/skinz vs timbersled front end

Have got some more time on my Skinz front end and here are a few more observations. It is easier to handle in the powder and while boondocking. It will roll over easier than the TS front end I had before but I also went from a 41" back to 39". On a ruttted trail it is not great. Rode all day Friday off trail and followed the groomer down the hill at the end of the day. There was 4 or 5 sleds in front of me on soft corduroy. I would get my skis caught in their ski tracks and had a hard time getting out of them. Unfortunately we all have to be on the trail sometimes. The TS front end was definitely better on the trail IMO. Am trying to learn to sidehill again (not good at it to start with) I am having a tendency to pull over to far and get the track out of the snow too much and get stuck. Rolls up on one ski much easier.

Sounds like you have heavy steering. I wasn't very happy on the trails until i adjusted my center shock . Made night and day difference, now it handles nice. What skid and ski's are you running?

Am running stock skis and a Timbersled skid. It is the old skid (last year). I have not messed with it too much. Am running air pressure (Fox Float II) about what Timbersled recommends with a 180 turbo kit. Am running limiter straps 2 holes higher than the recommendation. Tell me about the air pressure in the middle shock.

I have yamaha light weight skid with fox float shock's. 2010 163 MPI S/C. I have simmons gen 3 ski's. I wasn't very impressed with the way the Skinz front end was handling on the trails. I gave Jeff a call over at Skinz he told me to loosen limiter strap and add more psi to center shock so i did and it handles great.I have 125 in center and 145 in rear. The TS is what they run.

I am running an actual cat skid in mine which I think feels pretty close to the same as the Yammi lightweight kit. I am running the front shock with the spring precompressed about two thirds of the way, and the rear at 130. Seeing as how I don't have boost sounds pretty similar, maybe less pressure on the front shock. I love the way my front end works right now with mine set up like it is, no heavy steering feel at all. Heading out tomorrow again in some better snow so we will see.

Maybe i should try a little more air in the center shock. My '08 is N/A but i am running 145 in the rear (but shock has been revalved for my weight) and 95 in the center of my TS skid and and 70 up front which is also TS.
My shocks are the older float shocks but still that is quit a bit af difference between 95 and 125 considering how much 5 PSI can change things. I realize that you are running boost but stiil. I am also 250 lbs and talking to allen at TS that is where he told me to start. MIght be time to mess around a little with the center shock. Seems to work well as it sits for me so i really have not messes with things too much. I would have gone with the skins kit if i did not just change to the TS up fromt last year. We shall see what people have to say about the kit at the end of this year. We just got our first major storm of the year in tahoe so have not rode too much this year yet. it is suppose to be back up to 60 tomorrow =(.

Finally got my Zbroz front today. Will have my Mechanics get put on tomarrow.
Looking foward to trying it out.

I too am having problems on a rutted out trail. I will have to pump up the center some and give it a try. Other than that, my Skinz front end makes my sled feels about 100lbs lighter. I am also running last years TS rear skid.

Zbroz Front is Great!
A little disapointed that I wasn't informed that you need a spacer kit from Yamaha to install.
Lack of instructions might make it hard for guys not having allot of wrenching experince.

I dont have part number, I made some. It was friday afternoonwhen "I" descovered that I needed them, to late to get dealer to order them to ride sat.The spacers go between the bushings and bolts holding A-arms on.
If you call them they will give you the part #.

One other thing to add it lifted the front of my sled around 2in.
I think thats a good thing with the M-10.

I rechecked my sled and it didnt lift it.
It must not have settled when I checked it the first time.
Was going to post pictures but now stand corrected.
