So I was doing a side hill a hit a big rock went over the bars a-arm is toast. So I'm going aftermarket.look at Zbroz 39" a-arms, question I seen on there website that the sway bar can be used still witch I want. But are the stock shocks the proper length. ? Or will raptor shocks from my 14 pro fit and proper length. Thanxs

OUCH!!

I did that last year on a rental (sidehill/rock)...

I believe that the 16.68" stock length shocks give stock ride height with the 39" arms.

Can you post up some pics of the ruined stock arm... I'd like to see how they fail when you hit stuff.

Thanxs m.h. I don't know how to load pictures off my cell.but the lower a-arm at the back of a-arms about 2" off where it bolts to bulk head bent down, moved the ski back 4" and top a-arm was stuck in my spring . Two guys pulled and 1 kicked a-arm at the same time to try and free up top arm from spring and we broke it haha. Just the back of arm that was bent. Put a rachet strap through arm around front bumper to the other arm and made it out 15km.

That sounds the same as every other bent AXYS Lower A-arm pic posted on here. The rear member of the lower arm regardless of which side, folds down, 2-3" out from the pivot point at the bulkhead. The Photos are posted on the other Axys A-Arm thread. FWIW

On the a-arm there is a plastic bushing where the arm attaches to bulk head. Does that plastic part need to come out for new arms ? If so How do you do it with out damage?

After you remove the c-clip do you just pound out the ball joint. ? Or press ? And how the hell do you remove the plastic bushing things?

I used a 3/8 drive 15 MM socket to push the bushing out of my stock arm and into my zbroz. If I would have known I had to stitch all the parts over I never would have ordered zbroz I would have bought alt impact. By the time I buy all 4 spare ball joints and 8 bushings it will be about $250 just to keep my stockers for spares

I had to use a lot of heat to remove the ball joints and then stick the joint in the freezer while I was heating the new arm after that they slide right in

I agree. I've done zbroz in the past, great arms. But, wouldn't buy them again. I always like to have spare arms. Switching all the hardware is a pita. I'm leaning towards Kmod and keeping stockers for spares. Alt impact, done them too. It's a pita to keep the bottom nut tight on the heim joint. I guess it could be Kmod next. Lol

I won't use anyone's A arms but Kmod's. Kevin is awesome to deal with.

To remove those plastic bushings. Use the pin (the one with 2 holes that holds the arm to the sled) with no washers on it. Just tap it in. Then flip the pin around to get the bushing out. Works awesome.

For those of you wanting a bolt on option for arms, I have the Z-Broz arms packaged with all the stock install hardware, right down to the ball joints. Installation will be trouble free and take a fraction of the time.

Email to fullthrottlecustoms@yahoo.com and I can post for you if wanted.

Any tips on transferring hardware are helpful! Have a set of Z-Broz coming myself. Mostly concerned about the ball joints.

Easiest is with a press.

After doing them both with a hammer and press I would stay with the press if possible.

IMO...Don't "pound them out"...Unless you have a sleeve to drive only the outer rim of the joint.

I've watched people turn nice tight new ball joints in nice and loose ball joints in one operation...

A press is best... I use a 3/4" metal conduit union with the O.D. sanded down a bit as the press "driver"... works well on a budget... now if you have the full set of SnapOn $6000 press tools... use those buddy!!

The Kmod 37" come ready to install, no pounding or pressing of any parts from your stock a-arms. They have upper/lower ball joints, delrin bushings already installed and all required hardware that is required is included.
