You think this guy is a scammer...

I would tell this jacka** you got a deal! Tell him that your brother lives in the UK and will be over with the cash to pick up the sled, then see what this piece of crap has to say. I have a buddy who fell for this scam from ebay it was for a tractor in the UK for 3500 He had a legitmate name and everthing, sent him the money via western union this was 2 years ago he is still waiting for his Tractor. We should have Chris Hansen from dateline cover this because this isn't the first time this has happened.

Should have told him to hold the sled, you'd take it but you need to get the money in place, Just email him every few days to go to Western Union, there could be a money order waiting for him (I would just tell him that, I wouldn't say its from me - if he ever gets pissed I would just say "I said there 'could have been' one there, I didn't say it was from me, but there 'could have been'...") Just cut and paste the same email every few days, takes about 10 seconds to do. Might keep him from selling the sled (if it actually exists) but hopefully just wasting some of his time going back and forth to WU. This is what I do with telemarketers, as soon as they start talking (usually becuz they have a 3 minute speech to go through) I just put the phone down, keep doing whatever I'm doing, go back about 3-4 mins later (if they are still there) and tell them that I missed the first part (they kinda broke up, must be a bad connection) and could they repeat it. then I put the phone down again and walk away or go back to what I was doing and wait to hear them "Excuse me, are you there?" then I quickly pick the phone back up and say "i'm sorry, you broke up again, could you repeat that, I'm in a really windy area...."). Keeps them on the line as long as possible - they aren't making any other sales while they are talking to you - and its funny to fugg with them - usually they hang up after the second time but sometimes you'll get some ambitious person who goes through it 3-4 times, then at the end you tell them that you're not interested. This sled thing is obviously a scam, if you send the money, I'll bet you never see the sled or the money again.

A buddy of mine fell for this scam,,,never saw the sled or the money,,,,6500 simolions,,,gone,,,,but much wiser.

a friend of mine fell for a scam like that. he crated up his quad and sent it off. it never made it to its destination so he got it back, but he spent all the money he got for it and the check was no good.... kinda dumb on his part to spend it but..... scam fo sho

I have been sent the same reply ...many times ... verbatim.

OH MAN...that was definitely worth the read!!! NICE WORK

Years ago when the UK lottery scam hit the market...a customer of mine, (retired and home paid for) took out a Equity Line of credit to send $25k in taxes. Needless to say...things ended up terrible for the guy. Lost his $25k and just about lost his home! Fuggin scammers should be shot!

How does it work sending money through WU? Could a guy tell him you sent the money, then have someone waiting there to beat the ever lovin piss out of him?

And he says it will get here in 5 ta 6 days, I cant get anything from down the road in that time.little lone 8000 miles away.He must be flying it over .How stupid does he think ya are.

Just tell him no problem and tell him to go to a Western Union...don't send the money. Repeat to a location 25 miles away. Repeat. You get the idea.

The biggest issue that I have is that I advised Trader.ca that this guy is a scammer and they should pull the ad. Almost a week later and the ad is still running. You'd think that they would pull the ad before someone else gets taken. His emails totally stopped.

hey guys, I dug this up, but I think it should be made very aware, I had enquired about 2 ads here in the buysell.com and these are the responses I got, seems awfully familiar.

Second email from Guy1

Hello again,
The Ski Doo is here with me in Miami . It is registered in Ontario , this is the reason why I posted on Canada . The sled will be delivered by Lufthansa and I will pay for shipping . They shipp door-to-door so you will not have to pick it up . They work like a third party , so they will hod your money until you will receive my snowmobile . After the sled will arrive at your door , you will have 5 days for inspection and test . After the 5 days inspection period will expire you will have to contact Lufthansa and let them know your final decision if you will keep it or not . If by any reason the Ski Doo is not like I described to you or not like in the pictures you can send it back on my expense and they will refund you in full amount .
Please let me know your full name and shipping address if you are interested to proceed in this transaction .
Thanks again and God bless you and your family .
Mike

I told him I would come down to look at it, never heard from him again, then another add pops up for super cheap, this is the response for a DIFFERENT AD

Guy2

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in my snowmobile.
The snowmobile is in absolutely perfect condition, no scratches, dings, dents or other imperfections. Always garaged and rarely used. Starts and runs great, no issues of what so ever.
The price is $2,900.00 (with shipping/handling included).
The sled will be shipped from USA where I recently moved due to work and family.
I have no use for the sled anymore, so i decided to sell it.
You will get the sled with proper custom papers, clear title, bill of sale signed by me as well.
The delivery will take within 4 to 6 days to reach your location.
Thank you and let me know if you are still interested.

Regards!

TOTAL SCAM, beware people, I also have contacted buysell.com advising the scam, they dont seem to care.

Why would you spend $$ to take a mtn sled to the UK???

I contacted a similar ad about a crotch rocket that was priced low, Calgary number and similar ad particulars. I was suspect of the deal remembering "If it sounds too good to be true"....when looking at price.

Follow the little voice inside you!

Friend of my dad lost his quad and $ for shipping to some A-hole in TX that did the same thing. That was 6 or 7 years ago.
