yeti or timbersled

For reference a high grade titanium bolt is between a grade 5 and grade 8 steel bolt for strength. (Probably around grade 6)

I tend to go stainless for anything with higher stress. (304 ss is around grade 9)

I've seen ti bolts break.... not on a yeti but just in general.

Fwiw

I stand by my previous post; as you make no mention of The special McMaster-Carr 304 Hi-Test 304 SS bolts you posted later on.

That is my beef with this post; the average Joe does not know that the cheaper hardware store 304 bolts are far inferior to the Grade 8 steel bolts that they are replacing. Via your recommendation (as your description is incomplete). So essentially you are responsible (IMO) for those that follow your recommendation and have issues.

90% of breakdowns are from trying to fix something that doesn't need fixed, Never turned a wrench on my TS that wasn't self inflicted... Also, some people can break anything, most of those people just haven't got a hold of the yeti yet. Yet.

If possible lubricate the threads on a SS or titanium bolt before breaking the nut loose . Less likely to twist the bolt off .

Timber sled tough has to be the dumbest marketing slogan on the planet.

because

BRIDGING THE POWER OF YOUR BIKE TO THE TOUGHEST SNOW or

YETIMIZE YOUR BIKE

is soooo much better, I like the Yeti, I think the new TS looks pretty good too. If we are going on just the marketing Yetimizing has the lame meter pegged and is currently setting the bar high for dumbest marketing slogans.

I'm going yetimize when those two are juxtaposed.

If Timbersled had any type of reputation for being tough they might have a point but timbersled fragile just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Some pics of yeti

It looks like the Yeti is about 26 pounds lighter according to their websites.
The belt drive will get the power to the snow more efficiently.
This setup looks nice. Might have to pull the trigger. Just picked the 450 sxf factory myself.:face-icon-small-hap

Yep , that's definitely a better looking and buildt kit than the PTS (Post traumatic Skid) ARO

Geez It seems somedays that I have to look to see if I am in the Axys/G4 forums around here.
