Hey guys i have a 12 assault around 1000miles. Near end of winter i want to throw a set of wossegner pistons in and do a head. Which head would you guys recommend for a riding range of 1800-7000ft? Dont know what compression ratio to go for either. 12.5:1 or 13:1.. Been looking At the PAR, SLP and RTK kits. What do you guys recommend? Im already running a GGB can which is nearly straight piped. lol

Just do the rk drop in kit with head... Case volume, port timing, head, all designed to work together as a package.

Head

I also think that the rkt head works well, I have run both the drop in kit aswell as direct replacement pistons and head, they both give a noticeable increase in throttle responce and power.

Kelsey recommended the 13/1 head for me, I ride around 2800 Ft. and up. If your riding down at 1700 ft. you might want to go for the 12.5/1 head or you could run some higher octane fuel at lower elevations.

What is the difference between drop in kit and direct replacement pistons and head. Is drop in kit just pistons. Thanks

Drop in kit gives you RKT pistons and head, with this set up you need to run the drop in kit specific RKT head. The direct replacement pistons are just that, replacement pistons. You can run these with the stock head, or really any head that you would like aside from the drop in kit specific RKT head.

Drop in pistons change port timing and require special cut domes (comes as a kit) direct replacement pistons are pistons for stock head (or anyone's head for that matter) but I used his head designed for the stock piston or direct replacements, both work great
