Yank's Peak trail is groomed!

The Powder Kings have plowed the parking lot and groomed the trail up to the chute. The road has been plowed and has a good few inches of snow so it didn't need to be groomed but the shortcut to the bottom of the chute was done and turned out great. As we get more snow it will improve a lot and get wider. The volunteers took the snowcat up to the cabin and did some work on the trail up that way too but we can't take the groomer up there yet.

Remember this is done by volunteers and paid for by the club. If you happen to see the groomers up there give them a thumbs up and please consider joining the Powder Kings.

Thumbs up to John and Dawn ran into them thursday in the morning and later in the afternoon when they were grooming down, I heard the groomer broke down on the way down the hill after we saw them is there any truth to that.

They are up grooming today but I don't think there has been much in the way of new snow. I'll try to get an update when they are back from grooming and post up.

Cheers

Stephane

I was there on sunday and the quesnel side was not groomed at all but i did here the willams lake side was...the snow is 3-4 feet good base just need some powder..there was enuf snow for the break neck bouls and some buy the cabin so it's prity good sleding...

I just got the report. The road from the parking lot to the shortcut has been plowed a couple weeks ago but not recently. It is fairly smooth and has some snow on it so it is sleddable. The groomers did from the shortcut to the bottom of the chute and it is in good shape. They still can't get up the chute due to lack of snow.

We were out grooming today on the Likely side, there's only a couple of inches of new snow in the last week down low, there may be a little more on top. Looks like it will be clear and cold all weekend, take it easy if you go up, people are "finding" some rocks up there.
Be careful in the chute too, there are some stumps and rocks coming through, hopefully we can get up with the drag next week and groom to the cabin, the lower trail is looking good.

We groomed to the cabin on Thursday. There was a few inches new at the cabin. Friends were up on the 24th, they said there was more in the fingers on the north side of the ridge, they had a good day but it is still pretty marginal. I doubt if there has been any significant snowfall since then but have a good day if you go out and keep us posted.
