XTX5020, 45C4553 45G4553 for 800????

So, my Holdover 18, blew the polaris belt in 600Km, ANd cooked a XTX5020 belt in 70Km of deep POW. Aligning clutches, seems to be the norm .180" to far in.
But my Q, cause I am a lifelog Doo guy who jumped ship, and loving the Axys chassis. BUT, in all my years, and I have a 11 XP that has 13,000 HARD Mtn Km on her, I wear out belts on tht. No pulled cords, no explosions. I align myself, and I am meticioulous. That sled clutching is spot on and she simply miles out belts. Change em at 2500Km or so.
So, you can belive my shock that at just under 600Km the other day, when I blow the stock polaris belt on my NEW axys. She had 635Km on her when blew, but 65 was breaking in other belt.
What's the pros and cons of the belts I listed??
XTX5020, 45C4553 45G4553??
Polaris belt is $265 PLUS tax here!!!! XTX5020 is $155+tax.

School me on what working please. I live in Sicamous BC, so she alll DEEEP days up here

Can only help you on the Gates belts, but the 45C4553 has a pretty good reputation. The 45G may be ok too, but not as tough as the 45C, which is what you want for extreme duty (ie, deep snow and lots of WOT). I run the equivalent Gates belt on my sled and it's been great, although I don't have enough miles to comment on longevity. Only downside is that apparently they won't handle misalignment as well as the OE belt. The time spent aligning the clutches is worth the extra performance alone to me, so I see no reason to buy another Poo belt at a 30% markup. 600K is pretty short for any belt, but maybe understandable if that's mostly the deep deep stuff.

Poo oem belt is the only one that holds up to my abuse..........

You might have a stuck roller in your primary clutch.

Complete kit from Altitude Power sports. Proven..
I did not ask for clutching advice. Thx tho.
I did ask on reviews of the belts and how they differ

What are you running for clutching? Stock sled?
I get a full season on the stock poo belt. I change the belt out at the beginning of the season and dont worry about it. I'm also running a BMP stage 3 kit and different clutching.

I’m going to just point out that your clutching is only “proven” to last 600 km with oem belt and 70 km with an xtx5020.

That mileage is very similar to what my belt life was with stock clutching (and those same belts)

The gates 45C lasted 90 km.

After switching to indydan clutching my belt problems went away.

Running the oem belt because it held up the best under extreme conditions.........
(And no worries about back bending)

Good luck!

I am not the only one running this clutching setup. Hence it's proven to work. If you would read I did state my alignment was out and is being rectified. Should have left the whole backstory out because really. I wanted pros and cons of each aftermarket belt on the axys.

The 3211183 has great life but I've found I can only run it when it's less than 20 deg outside or I get tremendous heat fade. The 45G will not last. The 45C is pretty decent provided it is broke in carefully, although I have had some manufacturing defects show on one I recently purchased. One thing you may want to consider is the stock belt from the 850 3211216 I believe. I know some of the competition oriented hillclimb racers have opted for the 216 because it performs well with little or no fade. I don't know of any of the 850 crowd that has had anything bad to say about it. I'd like to hear from those Axys 800 riders who have tried the 216.

Indy dan!!!
Get ur clutch's balanced both of them! Get his clutching and drive it WFO !!
Will never run another clutch set up from any other biz Over 45 years of mods under my belt
Drop the mike!!!!!!!!
Get it done

The 45c and 47c are your best performing belts. The 45 is the recommended belt but the center to center from the factory is not correct, so we have gone to the 47c. It is just a tick longer.

We have ran head to head tests proving the Gates is a performance gain. Longevity and wear is just as good as the Polaris or better.

Couple things. Do not put it in spare belt holder. The carbon does not like to be folded. We either carry a spare Gates carbon in our back pack or put a Polaris in the belt holder for a spare. There is other places on your sled, you could tie a Gates in too.

Make sure your alignment is set. I have yet to see a Axys with proper alignment from the factory.

Break in... go for a rip and get the belt nice and warm. Stop, take it off, and let it cool. Typically I do it once. 2x wouldn't hurt.

Check out some of the TRS threads. There is some good belt info in there.

I prefer the gforce gates g model. It's not quite as tough as the Polaris OEM or the gates carbon, but I believe it's more consistent performing whether hot or cold. More importantly, it won't cut your clutch sheaves like the carbon belts do, and you can buy three of them for the price of 1 OEM belt. I've never broken one, I beat on them pretty good in steep tree riding.

Your being pretty stand off on the clutching portion. You need to ask yourself a question though. What are your clutch temps like. Can you ride hard, stop and put your hands directly on the clutches? How hot are they?

There's a reason for that. I know there is clutching issues, and you would read in the first sentence the issue. Alignment. The mid part of my post was just some info, not pertaining to much other than if someone says 1000Km on a belt is great, my last sled would get 3500 or more! I know how to clutch a sled. I know how to align clutches, I know a lot of things that most here prob don't
But what I do not know, because I have not had personal experience yet, is the difference and longevety of each belt I listed. So thats why the post title says
XTX5020, 45C4553 45G4553 for 800????
not help me I blew a belt what do I do.
Sorry if anyone thinks I am being an ass, i'm not. I just want belt answers. I woulda gone back and edited my post but it won't let me.

This is what I looking for thank you...

Please explain more on cutting the clutch? Iver used the Carbon on a XP for many thousands of Km and things were good on that

you cant answer belt questions without answering the clutching issues. You have more than misalignement going on. I don't care what you put on for a belt, if your clutches are hot, they wont care what belt is on. again.... how hot are your clutches.

If you know how to clutch, answer my question. what are you clutch temps??? I can put my hands on my clutches after a long long run, can you??
