Xtreme Performance #2

That's a bad gig. Sorry to hear the news. I'll "send" a couple up for you guys. I hope your wife gets well soon! Good luck brother.:beer;

SAD SAD News

I just want to say thanks to all te people at Xtreme for the past service and freindly service that was provided by Xtreme. They have been behind our sport for years. This leaves a big hole in the area as far as service and support for sledding. We have purchased many a sled from Don,Chris and Courtney. Purchased my first trailer from Don when the N store was a body shop. Donavan was always willing to help with setup questions. I can go on,but the fact is Xtreme will be missed. We wish all well and our prayers are with Mindy.
Thanks For Everthing,
Mike + Susie C.

Ryan, I am sorry to hear that you guys are closed. I have to say that spending my recreational money with you guys was always a pleasure. I truly appreciated the prompt service work as my #1 priority may not have always been yours but you did a great job at keeping my toys running.

Donavon, Mindy, Don, Chris, Ryan, Dom, Nick and Courtney. Thanks to all of you for helping to get me into a sport that I enjoy so much and have been able to share with so many other people. I wish the best of luck to all of you and know that being the kind of people that you are, good things will come to you in the future.

I'd like to add a little

The Importance of Winning Relationships

For those of you who don’t believe in making New Year’s resolutions, today could be the day you decide to set that goal for yourself for 2009. It doesn’t have to only happen on Dec. 31. And maybe you are one of those folks who just aren’t buying into any of this goal setting business.

Whichever group you fall into, I think you will agree that building winning relationships is important to all of us. As a matter of fact, many of you who did make a commitment this New Year’s Eve included improving the relationships in your life. You desire to have a better relationship with your friends and co-workers, your customers, you are looking for a deeper relationship with God, and/or you are longing for a more loving relationship with your children and your spouse.

As you pursue those winning relationships you have to understand that in every relationship there is give and take. You have to be prepared to give more and take less. As a matter of fact this is a good time to remind you what Zig Ziglar says, “You can have everything in life that you want, just as long as you help enough other people get what they want.” It is so true in every relationship.

If you go out looking for a friend, you might find a couple. If you go out to be a friend, you will find more friends than you have ever had before.

Our relationships, especially close, healthy, winning relationships are the foundational ingredient in achieving all of the other goals we have set for ourselves. These are the people in our lives that we mutually support when we are trying to change for the better, pick each other up when we are feeling down, drive one another when we need a kick in the pants, remind us of our passions, and love each other unconditionally. In a healthy winning relationship, we can share dreams and visions without fear of being ridiculed or made to feel small. Instead we build each other up to live and dream as big as possible.

Another friend Krish Dhanam shared this story with me. In a village, there lived a young boy who had amassed the greatest marble collection anywhere in the country. His marble collection was the envy of every other young boy in the surrounding villages and even some of the men. In that same village there lived a young girl, and she had the largest candy collection anywhere in the country. One day the young boy and young girl had gotten together and decided to make a trade, the candy for the marbles.

On the day of the exchange, the boy had placed a few of his most prized marbles under his pillow. He then went to meet the young girl and the exchange was made. That night the young boy lay restlessly in his bed all night wondering what candy the girl had held back and not given him. On the other end of town, the young girl slept blissfully and peacefully knowing she had given everything.

In the pursuit of any goal we choose, we must give it our all. And in pursuing winning relationships we need to leave nothing behind, we need to definitely give it our all. We all have just a little more to give at any moment, we can laugh a little more, listen a little more, give a little more, and love a little more. Pursue your relationships with an attitude and philosophy of love and forgiveness and you will be well on your way to building winning relationships in all areas of your life.
I can assure you this team gave it their all.

You are very right. The problem I see is there more people that care about themselves then others. Lots like the little boy. Thanks for this and may the crew at Xtreme be blessed with better things.

Sad deal for sure. I wish the best for everyone involved.

I hope this is an OK question...will there be any going-out-of-business sale, auction, etc?

This is truly a bummer. Chris, Eddie, and Mike were always on top of my needs. Donavan's personal values were reflected in the employees. You all will be missed....

Do you know if they sold that scale they used to weight the SkiDoo at last year's SnowShow?
I'm in the market for a new scale.
Heard it comes with a free 5gal jerry can.

$50.....anyone?

;-)

MD.

Ok....just kidding!

Thanks to Donavon and Mindy

I wanted to add my post to the thread about Xtreme Performance Center and Donavon and Mindy. I'm relatively new to riding. I have ridden snow mobiles in the past, and last year decided to take up motorcycle riding. I passed my trike endorsement (I fall off of 2-wheelers real easy), and wanted a good trike to ride.

As many of you know, Xtreme carried the Can-Am Spyder Roadsters. I did my shopping around and decided that Xtreme was the place to buy, and the Spyder was the vehicle to ride. I made the right choice, in more ways than one.

First, I found dealing with Xtreme to be easy and pleasant. I checked them out and found that they had been in business for 14 years, and had a rock solid reputation in the area. Donavan was very involved in the industry here in Colorado, and, for me, Xtreme was the place to do business.

I purchased a Spyder from Xtreme back in October, 2008, and that would have been the end of most stories, except for regular maintenance. Well, it wasn't. And, this speaks volumes for the organization that Donavan and Mindy built up, the quality of their staff, and their commitment to their customers. My Spyder was great to ride, but had one serious flaw. It would lock in gear, especially in the most dangerous parts of a ride (i.e. I-25 or on a very busy street). The bike spent the better part of the next 5 months in the shop while BRP worked with the Xtreme techs down at the Castle Rock store to try and fix it. They tried fix after fix.

I had worked with Mindy during this time, and she did not hesitate to provide me with a loaner bike to help me get through this tough time. Finally, after the bike failed one too many times, I drove up to the Longmont store and met with Donavon and Mindy. They had already been working with the manufacturer and were familiar with everything I had been through. It was nice to know that owners can be that involved.

Here's the really cool part. Not long after this meeting, Donavon took the initiative and let me trade in my flawed bike for a replacement bike from his stock. To say this least, this really helped me and got me back on the road a lot sooner than if I had continued to wait on the manufacturer to fix the problem. This is the kind of commitment to customer satisfaction that will be missed here in the Denver area.

During the all too short time I have been dealing with both Donavon and Mindy, I have come to respect their integrity and their commitment to be better than the rest. I will miss doing business with Xtreme and just riding down to the Castle Rock store to talk with the staff.

Hopefully, Donavon and Mindy will make another go at this in the not too distant future. I know how much the business and their customers (more like family) meant to them.

I saw Mindy at the Castle Rock store the last Saturday they were open, and I could tell that what was happening was truly hard on her and Donavon. If I had known the store would close two days later, I would have stayed longer to talk with both her and Donavon, and wish them well in a more proper manner. As it is, I'm grateful Mindy "talked" me into buying a great riding jacket to wear instead of the Harley jacket I was wearing. Each time I saw either Mindy or Donavon, they told me I needed something better to wear when riding my Spyder and would kid me about a Harley on the Roadster.

To both Donavon and Mindy. Thank you for being the kind of people I would have enjoyed doing business with for years to come. Our business association was all too short.

Please let me know if you do something else.

This is a very sad occurrence for Colorado. I have been with Xtreme for many years and enjoyed dealing with them. Your X packages are the best and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Donovan, Mindy and their entire Xtreme family. Let me add my vote for re-opening if you ever get the chance there would be a lot of us that would be back immediately. Good luck to all and hope to see you on the hill.

An Xtreme loss for everyone!

Hello all,
I just wanted to let everyone know how wonderful it was to be part of the Xtreme family (for a little while at least). I was speaking to a former sled client when he shared the news of the stores closure. My heart sank!!!!! Just a few words for a few of the people who made such a difference in my life and the Rocky Mountain snowmobiling community.....

Donovan- a true inspiration with a vision for the sport. You grabbed your marketplace and ran with it simply because you loved it! Keep Going!!!!!!!!

Mindy- you held the company together with a calm energy and sometimes bailing wire. You let me enjoy my workplace in peace. Thank you so much.
I am so very glad to hear that you are on the mend. My prayers are with you!!

Dominique- your dedication to Xtreme was amazing. I watched you carry the workload of ten at times... always getting the next shipment of KLIM out to UPS in time for the holidays. I am certain there are many warm and dry riders in the world because of your diligence. You are truly gifted.

Nick- you were knowledgable and very good at your job. You always were able to lend a helping hand whether in service or at the parts counter. People sought you out because of the quality treatment you offered them. You should be proud.

Don- the grease on the cog. The inventory flowed because of you. I never heard you say no to me when I needed a sled delivered to the Rabbit Ears Pass parking lot for a client. I enjoyed your heart and soul for the business. I watched as you took time to visit with old customers (always remembering their names) and promoted the vintage rides that you had stashed. Drag sleds and the such. Your knowledge of the sport is a lost art. It was a pleasure.

Ryan- I am glad to have worked with you. I was proud to introduce you to my clients as you ARE one of the best technicians ever. You were always cordial and answered questions without hesitation. You were an asset to not only Donovan and Mindy but to all of the sledheads who frequented the store.
You are an icon.

Chris- you are one arrogant bastard. I think that is the characteristic I will always remember. By the way, you were damn good at your job and like any pro athlete, it's ok to be arrogant because "you backed it up every day". I am certain that there are many people who will be misguided regarding technical questions in the Colorado powersports marketplace because you are not there to guide them properly. You are a prime example of a salesperson who KNOWS his product. Thanks for all of your help when I needed it.

Charlie- it was unfortunate to have lost you during my tenure with Xtreme. You were upbeat and had a true SERVICE attitude. You drove 1.5 hours to and from work (that's NUTS!). That was dedication. I hate to say this but part of the company died when you left. The customers needed counceling when they found out. Best of luck to you and your wonderful wife! Thanks for the use of your Dad's cane. That meant a lot to me.

The "core" unit of Xtreme will always be known for a gracious spirit and their performance aspirations. I wish that I had worked with you longer.

True success is derived from the people that are empowered to make a difference in the lives of their customers. The doors may have closed but the experience lives on.

I became a sledder because of Xtreme Performance Center. I have tasted two stroke exaust at 10 degrees and looked out over mountain tops and witnessed sunrise and sunset views that no man should ever live without. My RMK carried me faithfully up and down the mountain without incident because of the people at Xtreme Performance. You all made it so easy to love the sport of snowmobiling. That purchase changed my life. Thank you.

I have moved out of state however I still think back to my first experience as a snowmobile customer and then chuckle that its no wonder that I wanted to work for Donovan and Mindy. I was honored to have been chosen to represent such a fine family and a wonderful destination location.... Xtreme Performance Center.

Best wishes to all-

Very sad...... I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years. When I moved to Colorado (10 years ago) I purchased 2 sleds from them, had all of my mods done by them & purchased all of my gear from extreme. Moving out here from Michigan, I had to learn how to ride all over again! I can honestly say that most of, if not all of my highcountry success has been directly related to the great help of Extreme Performance.
Over the past 10 years I have purchased several sleds from you guy's. I'm going to miss the expert advice and service. The bad part is, when you opened the new store in Longmont (off I25 & Hwy 66) it was about 10 minutes from my house.... "Where am I going to go for gear"?!!!!!!!!

Bust serious, you guy's had an amazing setup. Going to miss seeing your huge display at the Denver Snow Show. Thanks for the great experience!

Hey

I just revisited this post for the first time in awhile.

Thanks to all the kind words. It put a tear in my eye reading all of the positive comments.

I know we put all our hearts and thoughts into everything we did as a dealer and as a professional company. We truely did this because we enjoyed the sport. It was not all just work but it was something we enjoyed.

Donavon and Don, Mindy are still helping and servicing sleds. I am also doing the same. Pm us we would be glad to help.

The company may have fell apart, but our knowledge and expertise and the willing is still there. We will never lose that!

Thanks everyone!
