Xtreme Performance #2

my friends at xtreme

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!!Xtreme has always gone above and beyond for me,sales, service, convenience, friendship and dedication.Donovan and Mindy I just want to say a big "THANKS" for everything.I wish things would have panned out,and i wish i could have said good bye, hope to see you on the hill sometime Donovan.A big shout out to Ryan,Chris,Nick,Dom,Courtney,Charlie,Brenda,Jason,Mindy,Kirk and Don.This is a sad day, there are no dealers even close to these guys in reliability. Thanks xtreme!!Todd.

Yeah what a said day.... pick up the dirt bike from extreme this afternoon and it was just not the same. Thanks to everybody at extreme performance. Ryan & Nick see ya at bar the first 10 beers/shot on me :)

Just a thought (hopefully not too early)...

Clearly Xtreme has a following, maybe it wasn't big enough to sustain the economic meltdown on a large commercial scale.

Have any of the "Alumni" discussed a small performance shop in the wake of the larger commercial effort disappearing?

Maybe it's limited, but there would appear to be some demand for the "setups".

Good luck.

MD.

Courtney - still have one of the Triton flatbeds you ordered for me years ago. LOL.

Hey there this is Nick from Xtreme. I would also like to thank everyone's support for the years that we were open. I have worked there since I was 13 (10 years now) and pretty much grew up at the shop. I never thought that this would have happened to Xtreme but I guess stuff like this does hit home. I would also like to thank Donavon, Mindy, Don, and Sharon for letting me be apart of this team for years and giving me a chance when I was so young. I loved working with all the toys and meeting some great people! Thanks again to all the loyal customers that believed in us and our setups you meant a lot!

Hopefully I can get a sled again and see some of you guys on the hill!

Nick Engen

Really sad to hear this.

I've bought 3 sleds,a trailer, performance mods, maintanance and many parts from Xtreme.Made the 80 mile one way trip to them because I knew I could trust them. Was always treated well and greeted by name,we will miss them.

Hope the economy turns around and they come back.Best of luck to the crew at Xtreme.
Pete & Carmel

This is truly a huge blow to the Colorado sled community! All the dealers
left either don't know a thing about powersports or the are pure azzholes(insert name here)! I take that back, I've never dealt with, but have heard only good things about Vickery.

I doubt we've heard the last from Xtreme/The Facey's!!!

Good luck to the Xtreme crew and thank you!

Read a little further back about the aforementioned. They tried talking Mule into jetting his EFI sled.:confused:

Every time I think about Xtreme's dilemma I get more depressed. I'm trying to figure out where to go, I have an idea I just don't know how I'll be treated since I didn't purchase my sled from him.:(

It really sucks to hear about this. I'm sorry to hear about another business going down because of the economy. And then to hear there are some medical issues with a spouse makes it even worse. You'll be in my prayers. I didn't know many of you but I spoke to Nick quite a bit. Nick, I hope you get on with an FD soon and good luck to all of you!

I've had more bad experiences than good at Extreme and finally decided to go elsewhere. Most of the Denver area dealers are just as bad. Marks in Alamosa and Twin Pines in South Fork are great. Its amazing how these small town dealers can make it. I think its the customer service thats why I support them and not Extreme or any other Denver area dealer. Great people worked at Extreme I'll agree but some made it impossible for me to do business there anymore.

Wow bummer! Didn't see this one coming. They seem like the strongest or one of the strongest dealerships in Colorado.

They always seemed super busy and sold a lot of sleds.

Good luck to everyone involved in finding jobs.

This is a very sad and unfortunate situation. What makes it more unfortunate is somebody comes in from the peanut gallery and starts bashing. That is uncool and these people have been hard working and loyal to their customers needs and wishes for many years. There is no need to rub salt in the wound.

My brother was one of those affected and he has been with them for many years so I tend to take this unnecessary negativity personally. Please keep your negative comments to yourself. If you want to leave condolences or well wishes, do so. Just don't come in here and start trashing them.

Thanks

Good Evening,

I apologize I haven't had time to respond to this thread for the last couple days but as you can imagine, it's been a bit of a blur watching the stores get disassembled by the various floorplan and banking folks.

It is unfortunate that the economy has taken such a hit and that consumer demand is so low these days. For the folks that have observed our stores over the years, you know our focus has really been on diversification and growth. That growth process did not come without more debt and more debt takes cash flow to keep things working. As business has fallen off so drastically over the last year or so, cash flow was just not there. Mindy's health certainly also didn't help the situation as she's really the one who should get the credit for managing the stores. I'm pretty good at dreaming up big ideas but she's really the person who made it happen day to day. As for her health, the good news is that the luekemia drugs are working, her back is much better after surgery, and the lingering effects of narcotic withdrawal are getting better all the time. The stress of this situation has been hard on her, but she's still the toughest person I know and she's going to her old self again soon.

For those who know Ryan, you know that for him to come on here and post his thoughts is really something. Closing the store is tough on us, but not so much because of what we've done with the business, but because of all the effort that has been expended on our behalf by really great employees over the years. I always believed that Xtreme needed to be about the team and not about me. In spite of that, I often get a lot more credit than I deserve for all our their hard work. For a lot of us like Dom, myself, Mindy, Nick, Chris, and Ryan, we've never really done anything else. The prospect of not seeing those guys or talking to them daily is very disconcerting at this point. I really am proud that the current crew has been so willing to do whatever it took to try and save the store and they've worked their asses off in spite of all the uncertainty and fear that accompanies this sort of situation. We really had a great group for the last couple years and whether people were long time employees or relatively new to the company, everybody put a lot of effort in to keeping things going and we really do appreciate that.

I think Court hit the nail on the head about our customers. We've had the opportunity to meet, talk with, work with, and ride with some of the greatest folks. A lot of people know Jon & Kellie from the Test & Tunes and all the cool sleds that Jon has built over the years. What you guys may not know is that Jon & Kellie contributed all that effort and time to helping the shop and refused to take even the smallest compensation in return. I'm positive that I don't deserve to have friends like that, but I'm sure glad I do. Looking back over the years, it's astounding how many folks have contributed their time and effort to making the store work and I can't express how much we've appreciated that. From guys talking their buddies in to coming to the store to all the help I've had from Bill & Todd on the dyno while Robin put up with our incessant talking about horsepower numbers, it's phenemonal how many people have helped. At the moment, I feel like the folks giving an acceptance speech because you know no matter how many people you aknowledge, you'll forget somebody. Suffice to say, we accomplished a lot over the years and a huge amount of what we got done could not have happened without a lot of people contributing a lot of time and effort for no other reason than their love of the sport. We'll always be grateful for all those friendships that were made along the way.

Lastly, I appreciate Ralph's sentiment that only positive comments should be made. However, we all know that nobody or no organization can ever be perfect or anywhere close to it. I hope and believe on balance we did more stuff right than wrong, but we certainly had our share of issues like all organizations. I can only say that in spite of our short comings, we always wanted to do the best job we could and take care of customers as much as possible.

Once again, thanks for everything...we'll see you on the hill when the sun's out and the powder's deep.

Take care,
Donavon

I have been a customer for the last twenty years...and a employee
Thanks you for the all the memories,Parts and fast sleds.
I will never forget the people from Extreme. Or their Clients as Both have made me feel Part of one big family...
Good luck to all involved
God bless To All
And SEE YA ON THE MOUNTAIN !

Good Luck Donavon,

Thanks for the 2 trailers and all my KLIM gear :) As a yammi rider I never bought a sled from Xtreme although Donavon and I would talk about it a lot..haha

Thanks for addressing everyone Donovan.

At the end of the day we all are in love with this sport. I can't help but think what is next for me and who I will be dealing with as a dealer. I can easily go to Lynn but I currently ride a Polaris. The important thing is the health of Mindy and it's very good to hear that things are going her way at the moment. I hope the best for you two and I hope that the lack of stress from all us sled junkies will help in her recovery.

Your store, employees, service and customer relations were top notch and that's why I along with my brothers and friends have purchased several sleds from you. Going to another dealer now will give me that "naked" feeling for sure.

We struggled to find sponsorship for our club snow drags event for two years and you stepped up both years as a gold sponsor. This was huge to me, especially when we couldn't even get dealers in our area to respond.

Good luck to you, I hope you can rebound in the way you want to. Please come ride with us up in the Vail Valley next year. You have my contact information and we would love to show you around up here.

Thanks,

Lance

WOW! Very sad day for Colorado Powersports, in all honesty all of powersports. We need more dealers like Xtreme. Hopefully things work out for you Donovan, sometimes to move forward you must first take two steps back. Good luck in the future and best wishesto Mindy. Hopefully we see you on the hill.

Just stating my opinion like everybody else on this forum not bashing. Like i said there were great people there but not all of them. I guess its ok to poke at Felker and Vickery in this thread or is that the bashing you were talking about. If not why are you bashing me. I guess the end result speaks for itself and I didnt need to say anything anyway.

Trust is hard to come by when working with a dealer. We (snowesters) are very passionate about our sledding as shown by our countless hours on here discussing everything from politics to setups. Looking through these threads the last couple of days I see that Xtreme has done many things to help out people with parts or service. That type of service is what I trusted when dealing with Xtreme. I don't know where I will go from here, but I am sure we will find a place. I would like to thank the people of Xtreme for their service and dedication to the motorsports industry. You will be missed.
