Well after a few years of lurking and hating on snowest(yep I hated all you bastages riding the hills) I FINALLY made my first pilgrimage to the hills.

Courtesy of bigbull and various other members of the Spokane Riders thread(where I spend lots of time) it was made possible for my to leave MN and go ride ID and MT:D:D

It all started early this fall when bigbull told me that I WAS riding with them this year. He went so far as to offer lodging at his house AND a sled to ride.....Huge thanks to his wife revbabe for letting me ride her M7 and for missing the Ladies Ride so that we could have the X-Ride!!!!

The response from all of the folks from the Spokane thread was huge. Our first day we rode Trestle and if I remember correctly we had 17 sleds in the parking lot. I wont' get everyone but Mr 509, hardass, JOP, Spiced Wafer, Hymark860, nitroskidue, Mini, and many more.

Spiced Wafer was huge in convincing me to get my ace up through some trees(that I thought were kinde tricky) and this resulted in me being able to make my first real climb! The going up wasn't so bad, but I must have spent 10 minutes working up the nuts to come back down. Also hardass let me take a rip on his 1200 and Sawyer let me smaple the boost. Man both those sleds have some power. Made me fell all warm and giddy inside to crack the throttle:devil:

Trestle of course also led to my first stuck of the trip.

The second day we drove over into MT and rode Fish Creek. I think we started with around 20 sleds. All I can say is, that ride in about scared the poop out of me. The part where I had all 130 pounds of my ace leaning off the right side praying the sled stayed up was nerve racking to say the least. Also riding those cornice tops was just down right freaky.

When we finally reached the play areas, I was treated to great show of what skilled riders are capable of. After watching for awhile at one hill a few in the group got me over to a nice open hill to stretch my legs on.

While I started nice and slow making easy runs up and nice easy big turn outs. Of course after seeing bigbull, Sawyer and Silvergriz top out.....while I thought for sure I could do it. OPPS I didn't. In my head I wanna say I made it 2/3rds of the way(tell me what it really was) before I was told by the hill and sled I wasn't going. Tried to turn and ended up beign rolled over by the sled which then rolled some more as I was chasing and grabbing after it(when it's not your sled you see $$$ real easy). Luckily the sled stopped but it was WFO.....never dug for a kill switch so fast.

I'm told all 3 at the top went "oh chit" at the same time and then bigbull had a few more words to say:o

It took awhile but finally Hymark860 was able to stop his sled on the hill and help me get pointed downhill. He can tell ya I was shaken up and nervous as hell, plus my drawers were kinda ripe. After getting to the bottom and checking the sled over with BB all seemed well and I just sat the rest out.

Old hardass and JOP just sat at the bottom sharing a sandwhich the whole time and then were kind enough to make fun of my display of mountain skills.....thanks hardass:D I know you were jealous of my speed running down the hill. Also R_8_N said when i came down I had a new look in my eyes and a new respect for the hills. He was spot on, plus part of the look was wishing I was on my own sled so I could try again:D

Sad looking snow on the road in

Waited along time for this type of scene

Spent the night in Superior with bigbull, hardass, JOP, motleyone(you are a funny figger), 4strokenewbie. Sawyer stuck around for dinner and drinks. Man that night was as fun as the riding was! Only downfall was that the bar didn't have Olympia and I had to settle for Rainer. Well that and enough shots to cause this 130lb wonder loose his dinner. Glad I could introduce all you guys to the Money Shot and those Red Headed Sluts weren't bad either. hardass and his warm Crown weren't so great.

Motley also managed to find the long lost love of his life that night but he tried to share. I know the pics will show up so i may as well post them. Cousin It as we called her, had Motley running laps trying to stay away;)

Thanks for sending her my way Sawyer, ya ace!

Somehow she only keyed in on Motley and myself.....wonder how we got so lucky?

I have a few more pics that I will post tonight in a slideshow. Work computers won't let me make one.

Until then here is a sequence of JOP putting on a show for the flatlander in the Hoo Doos

Glad to hear you finally made it out west. You're ruined now. Life just won't be the same. Looks like great snow and you rode with some top notch snowester's. Who could ask for a better first ride. Here is for many more trips to come. :beer; Maybe we can work something out for next year. :beer;

Of course JOp had to check out the line going up the face. He thought it wouldn't go but Ragged talked him into it.

You rode Surveyor. AWESOME.

You saw some good country.
Did they take you back to Leo Lake or Kidd Lake?

bigbull had some issues during the day at HooDoos as well, ended up sending his M1 into a tree and then back down the hill. Got lucky and it stopped on a small ledge.

Going up.....he is to the right in the pics

I think we went to Kidd, not really sure how far in we went. Felt like along ways.

Devil, man I've been thinking of a good title since the ride for this post.

For sure everyone that showed up and helped for the X Ride did awesome and they were great.

Definitly a change in riding style for all of the guys and I know some were worried about the large numbers but everything went well! Can't thank everyone enough for showing me around for 3 days.

Scott, I have no idea where this pic is taken from but it was looking ahead to the way out

Hopefully bigbull, silvergriz and everyone else can add their pics. I know BB and Griz have some pics of me as my balls were getting bigger then my skill level.

Bait hook, troll, nibble, set hook, reel in. Mtn Riding - You are now hooked and ruined for life!

Hmmm. U-Haul, resume, sled and compass that only points west. Life is to short to swat mosquitos and eat Lutefisk.
Besides, Al Frankin is now a......, sorry I just can't say it.
