XP's which pipes work? please help

I'm sure you guys have gone over this but which aftermarket single pipe and can works on the xp 800r. I've got an 09 hillclimb coming and i'm not sure what to do. Right from the get go i'm planning a rk-tech head and reprogram(awesome on my last sled), pipe, can, some clutching and maybe some reeds. also what are you guys doing for clutching? any help would save me lots of $$$$ cause trial and error can be a real BI%#H. Thanks fellas

No one knows it looks like i might try a SLP single system that is all i know guys are thinking about. Clutching is all new this year we will have to see there too. SHR? has some clutch kit as well and mxzrevzone.com who knows for sure there buddy good luck in your search.

SLP pipe make 5 hp peak and 10 mid range on a stock xp--the pipe with the 6000' head makes 7 HP peak and 18 HP mid --we have 2 09 x's that will have the pipe--mine -stock and my sons with a head--when we get some goood snow we'll have the results--

T/A - You got some pics of the installed slp??? Hows the sound out of it?

pics--i think its a tick quieter than the 08x with a HPS can--i might try the HPS and super Q cans with the slp pipe if the fit and see how they sound:eek::eek:

correct me if i'm wrong, that's ceramic coating that looks so sweet on the slp, does it come with thaton the pipe?

dyno

i had dyno port last year, did what it was supposed to, i guess? but when i sold the system i noticed a crack in the welded seam that they obviously tried to fix at the dyno shop but still cracked after i got it, i still have the sea level pipe for sale just the pipe for under 3000 ft

If you ride at high altitudes i wouldn't spend any money on a pipe. When you run the sea level vs altitude numbers there just not worth it....Further more the issues are in getting enough AIR through the airbox. Without the air the aftermarket pipe will struggle and not run to its full potential.....By the way SLP powdercoats there pipes in Idaho Falls,
Idaho.

As for clutching the same baselines that have worked for years on skidoo mountain sled are still the same baselines that will work on the 2009's

Thanks for the input OT, the air box mod i thought was kind of a given i've heard alot of guys talk about that, i was just curious if anyone had a pipe on an 08 that worked well.

Thanks for the pics t/a!

Maybe a dumb question but do you think you would be able to run the slp pipe with a mbrp can?

BTW- That slp look great in there!

i'm thinking of trying the HPS and the Super Q after it's broke in and we have it running properly:eek:

i wonder how much money we all waste every year at this time on untested parts that look cool. we' re so bored waiting for snow that buying part with claimed performance numbers makes us feel good . to date there isnt a doo pipe thathas been proven to do anything but lose weight at elevation. the aftermarket head and airbox mods were proven last year. its anybodys guess as to wether or not the 09 clutching will work or not. so imo its a total waste of money to buy clutch parts for your 09 till we get some miles on them. btw we got enough snow in utahover the weekend to ride. wish 09 was here to get some breakin miles today

DITTO....As for any tuning the " 800 Bore & Stroke" remains unchanged as does the function of the TRA....Curious to know if the 09 runs a 44 or 42 straight ????

You stand a better chance at getting more track speed if you tuned the suspension vs adding a pipe.
