This is where my $$ went -

I bought an XP last year, and immediately put an HPS can on it. That was my first $275.

This year-
Clutch kit (SleadHeadRacing) $200
Vent kit (XXXModRods) $75
Tunnel Rack (Vortech) $130
Tunnel Bag (SnoBunje) $50
Engine temp-guage module $90
Black side panels (to get rid of those ugly grey ones!) $180

That there is your $1000!! Well, not exactly.....I didn't include shipping.

There goes my plan of buying a new sled to save money buy not having to spend money to keep my old junk running! ;)

$1000

I added it up, and I'm pretty sure I can't buy that much beer AND all those parts for a grand.... might have to settle for :beer;:beer;:beer; and the quick clickers!!!

I would not buy clutching if you bought an 09. They pretty much changed every part in both clutches from 08 to 09. The 09 clutching should work very well. A set of quick clitckers is very handy though.
An aftermarket head is a very good add on. I ran a RKT head on mine, well worth the money. www.2strokeheads.com
I wouldnt be running out to buy pipes either. The SLP looks cool, but from what I hear was developed on a dyno and has not seen any snow time yet. For over $600 I'd let other poeple test it.
A can is a good way to knock some weight off and get a cool sound. Most seemed to like the HPS, superQ and Thing.
Something to prevent the intake from plugging with powder is a must have. I would do a search on this. I know SLP and Doo both have kits out for this season. A lot of guys made thier own last year.
It should be a dam good running stock sled this year.
