XP vs XRS

Which sled will climb higher all day long with the same rider, and how big is the difference (if any)??

xp vrs xrs

never been on an xrs but I had an 07 151 x and my 08 xp will run circles around it and my 07 still rides with us as it was sold to a riding buddy just opion but I have heard if the xrs is set up right they run good

I've got to go with the XP on this one. The XRS has the wrong track. I know of a few guys who swapped out the track on the XRS for the one on the XP and it made a huge difference. The XRS did ride smoother, but at the same time the other issues seemed to poop up more often.

I am with the freak on this one. The challenger track trenched. For true mountain riding the xp is more nimble easier to maneuver. If you get the Clutching figured out the XP rocks. Though I have a buddy that has an 06 159x with the slp package and it will out do my xp all day long it is very frustrating...

I traded my xrs for an xp this year. Honestly right now I would rather be on the xrs. I liked the rev chassis better, as far as the handlilng and suspension. I never had to touch one suspension adjustment on the rev it always seemed to be just right, and I have been fumbling with the suspension on the xp the last couple of rides to get it to work better. I also don't have the clutching dialed in on the xp so the jury is still out on that, I am frustrated right now and not seeing anywhere near the trackspeed that others are claiming, but it did take me quite a while to get the clutching dialed on the xrs as well...

After I rode my 08 XP for a while I thought I missed my XRS but after riding another rev chassis side beside my XP there is no comparison, the XP will out perform the XRS easily. The XP chassis is MUCH different to ride, too much rider weight up front compared to the rev, need to slide back while trr riding in order to handle good. Climbing is where the XP shines, the less weight is very noticable and can easily climb the older rev chassis. Last year a STOCK 163 XP was out climbing a Turbo 700 Dragon, the Dragon was a 155 and had too much power for the track but none the less it was out climbed buy a stock XP.

I have made some good equal comparisons with these 2 sleds...both 800R, same model track, (Rev a 159, XP a 163), rider weight similar and switching riders, the XP will consistantly go significantly higher due to the lighter weight and the ability to keep the skis down better than the Rev chassis.
A stock XP with junk stock clutching spinning the track at just 35mph will put a similar mark on a climb as a Rev chassis spinning at 45mph....side by side tracks. I was surprised there was this much difference but this is what I have observed.

i have an XRS 159 that is finally set up and running the way i always thought it should. the stories about the track are true to a certain point but it still performs well where i ride. one of my riding partners and closest friend has a 08 XP 154 and he very rarely out climbs me. we are neck and neck when playing in the powder and boondocking but he can certainly smoke me when headed down the trail to grab a beer. i know that an XP will be my next machine but i have no complaints about my XRS and will probably keep it as a spare--one of my other friends still rides a yamaha and i hate waiting for him.

A XP will definitely out do the XRS. However The XRS has a smoother ride I think. I have a 07 XRS 159, and hate to trade it on a new one cuz I like the way it handles. I think the shocks on a XRS are superior to a stock XP shock.
