xp secondary bolt backed out.

I stopped yesterday to put my googles under the hood on the motor, I noticed on the seconday that the bolt that has the special tool had backed out about an inch. I just tightedned it back and rode.

Why would this bolt thinging back out? What would happen if it fell out?

thanks

manual

read you owners manualfrom under your seat where it tells you to snug the bolt inside the plastic thing that backed out. when they say snug, i say cranked down hard.

Wrong!

If you do without cutting the slots, you will ruin your plastice secondary cog, even after cutting the slots, it is sufficient to firm tighten the center cog.

DO NOT CRANK DOWN the plastic COG!!! Firm yes, over tight NO!!!
