XP jetting with can

I run an EGT on mine & yes they are surprising lean. Especially with Reeds. easy to get into the 1300 in midrange.

Did you check the temps with the stock can? Doos have been like that since the 800's came out in 01....hot in the midrange. Then if you tune the temps down, they run sloppy. I just quit putting EGT's on my sleds....hahahaha.

I have heard alot of people say the raise the clip once notch to richen it up in mid... I have not messed with mine, but I hear they are a little lean in mid..I just run past mid to WFO:)

I know what you are saying about the midrange. I put the EGT on because I was doing a 960 big bore last year. I ended up running the 800 most of the year & I kept my EGT on. But you are right most of them out there are running high midrange temps & not knowing it. It doesn't bother me anymore because I am over my 670's & 720's :(where it used to matter. Nickasil pistons & cylinders handle the heat much much better....Like the old saying "what you don't know won't hurt you" ;)

I guess I need to put a shim under the clip???? how lean are they really ???is any one bunring down at cruise part throttle????

WOW what a  PITA to do the Mag side carb but I got a .20 shim under the needle and the needle has only one clip!!! and there is a shim under the needle already but I did not pull it to measure it.
