My wife owns a graphic design & sign business so i used vinyl application fluid. But water with a LITTLE soap works just fine. I didn't take it off, it just tucks right under the edge of the tank. Don't be afraid to use a little heat either. The material he uses is made to stretch and form to the surface, so heat will be neccesary in certain areas. He does some wicked work, you will be happy.
