XP brake light stuck on

Have a '12 XP X Model and brake light will not shut off. Brake is not dragging or hung up, just won't switch to tail light. Anyone else have this happen and a possible solution? Thanks

check the connections at the switch on the master cylinder... you've probably broke the switch where it mounts to the housing, pretty common problem

Ditto, look underneath and see if the brake lever is pushing the little brake button. Probably isn't. There's a little plastic dowel pin the brake switch has that gets snapped off and then the switch pulls away from the lever just enough to not become engaged when the brake is applied. We boogered one up with some zip ties on a buddies to get it to work. So far so good.

Yeah, those Doo brake switches flat out suck. I've broken 3-4 of them on my Rev and just last weekend the one on my XM broke, $50 for a new one.

This is how they make their money by nickel and diming you to death. lol

Just went out to the shop and figured this out. On the underside of the brake lever there is the brake light switch (mine is grey). Pulled back the rubber protective cover exposing 2 wires with blade connectors. Disconnected them cleaned both ends up with wire brush, applied some nonconductive grease sealant and put back together. What do you know everything works perfect! Moisture gets in there and causes corrosion. fyi.

WPS sells what appears to be the same one for under 20.00

I bought my 12 summit used, and for some reason the brake light wouldn't shut off. I used a Dremel and made a small countersink where the switch contacted the lever to adjust the travel and problem solved... Maybe the switch moved?
