Wyoming snowmobile tags $55.00?

There site does show them still at 25 but it would not surprise me if they will be 55 when you go to buy them. I remember a thread on here last year talking about the potential cost increase and there site most likely just is not updated yet.

I do not mind the increase but make sure and take care of the grooming like they are SUPPOSE to with the extra increase.

I really do not care how much the permits are, within reason. I would pay $55 if I had to. I spend as much buying sled movies to get me by until I can get out there and ride. Much cheaper than therapy. The cost of the permit is a drop in the bucket compared to how much I spend for everything else needed to ride.

I agree. I did work in certain areas of Michigan when they raised there prices.

I wouldn't expect the trails to be groomed any better at all. They're basically just adjusting the price up to keep the status quo. If we actually wanted well-groomed trails in the state we'd all be paying $200 a tag.

$55 is fine with me. If someone finds out before the website changes, let us know.

I think the increase is still a work in progress. But if you want to go to Disneyland you gotta pay the gate fee.

Now I understand that raising tag prices frustrates some...why do we have to pay more than last year? Now I'm in no way trying to sound arrogant, BUT in the grand scheme of things ( and these are examples - 30k plus tow vehicle, 12k plus sled, 2k in clothing / Avy equipment + fuel & lodging, etc.) is 30 bucks hike in tags THAT big of a deal?

It sounds like posts thus far understand that basically you gotta pay to play, and like Clatla said - it's a drop in the bucket compared to everything else needed to ride.

Sorry just my .02 cause I know the 30$ increase will just infuriate a select few....(if it truly raises 30$)

Raising the tags will have no effect on me I will still come. They should have 3 and 7 day pass for less money if they go to 55$. There is lots of young riders trying to get into the sport from the Midwest and going on a trip to the mts on a budget. It will also stop some families from coming out with their sleds on a budget. I see many riders riding 1500 to 2500$ sleds that vacation in the west. I know this is an expensive sport but we need to recruit as many young people as possible and it starts with family riding.

I can get behind and agree with that. We offer fishing license in the same manner.

You know I do not mind paying that price but in the reflection of the % of increase it does sound like poor administration. I really dont think they should take that big of jump..they should be raising them gradually and keeping up with the times. To just double them is reckless.

I just checked and they have not changed yet. I can not remember when it changed over last year.

oh well, when it happens it happens. Might seem a bit steep but not going to keep me out of the back country.

Prices have not gone up this year. That proposal did not make it off the floor in the legislature last year. So the price is still $25 a sled unless you donate to SAR :)

As for the proposed increase last year, the State Association only wanted a $10 fee increase, it was the legislative committee that bumped it to $55... Just an FYI...

In order to maintain the current level of trail operations, there will need to be a bump in the price in the future.

If it actually meant having trails in the state groomed every night so they weren't constantly f*cked over, I'd pay $110 for a Wyoming tag :)
