They are just trying to cover their butts as far as warranty in the event that the track comes apart. Youd probably actually be surprised how fast it will go in stock form anyway. If it tops 90 mph, I would be impressed. THIS IS NOT BASHING THE SLED! This is a FACT when it comes to long paddle tracked mountain sleds.

My 08 D-7 said pretty much the same thing, they just don't want to pay for new tracks when it starts throwing lugs.

Just another way polaris can screw the consumer when something breaks instead of fixing it themselves.

The track propably won't come apart, but if it does they are covered

wow how quickly you have turned now that you have boost!

Ok so in the mountains i would love to see a stock 800 pull a 70mph track speed anyhow. There is no reason to even worry about that. I don't know if you have seen that track but it's pretty hard core and they made it for the hill climb circuit, so i'm there will be no issues of it holdin up.

talked to a polaris engineer this spring, he took an assault, geared up, across a lake for a couple 100 mph rips (1.5 miles each) and came back, no lugs left on the track. granted this is hardly any snow (hardpack) across a lake, but he did it himself and he said he wouldnt reccommend doing it to my sled.

lugs

I had a real good look at the Assaults lugs, very beefy. They look heavy and rigid, no give to them at all. Doesn't surprise me at all about lug separation, had a buddy de-laminate a series 3 track going into Kakwa for a season.

I dont know what kind of riding you guys are doing, but I dont think I could go 70 mph if I wanted to. I guess you must be riding trails or roads or something. Cause I am thinking that I is nearly impossible to go over 70 in the DEEP powder of mountain riding.

I went in and outa there a 100 times last winter with a 2.5 under my sled with no issues. lol. Is this track a taller lug version of their old comp track? never really had that good a look at it, if it is I soooo want one! Come in a 162? lol

It is even better than that imo for hillcross/packed snow conditons! It will be an awesome track for SOME conditions. I bet it is going to be a trenching machine in dry fluff though!
