I'M LOOKING TO PURCHASE A CABIN IN THE SANDPOINT AREA. THIS CABIN WILL REQUIRE THAT I'M ABLE TO WALK OUT MY FRONT DOOR AND GO SNOWMOBILING, SIDE X SIDE RIDING AND HAVE PLENTY OF TREES AROUND. IF NOT SANDPOINT AREA WHAT OTHER AREAS DO YOU RECOMMEND. THANKS, CRAIG

Your going to want to be a a higher elevation than Sandpoint if you want to ride out your garage every year. It's a bit hit or miss in town as to weather the snow sticks. It's a humid area most of winter even schweitzer ski area gets it's share of rain/fog days. Don't get me wrong the sandpoint area has excellent assess to all types of riding but trailering is the norm. If you want a snowmobile/winter cabin you can do better.

look in the pack river area just north of sandpoint. there is some cabins that are sled only aproach inthe winter time. I believe they stop plowing at jeru creek so anything past that is snowed in in the winter.
Your best bet in N. Idaho is like Tim suggested...pack river, or maybe in priest lake.

A few other areas would be, Granite Creek area in Clark Fork, Trestle Creek in Hope Idaho and Baldy Mt area in Sandpoint.
