WRP Seat vs. Stock

Well my Black Friday purchase consisted of a new WRP low profile seat. They had them for 296.00 which included shipping, normal price is 329.00 which includes shipping.

The seat itself is 2" lower then the stock seat and that was confirmed with measurements. The WRP seat is 3" longer but with it being lower, I don't believe you will even notice this extra length.

Width wise the stock seat is about 9.5" wide at it's widest point and about 5" at the narrowest point.

Width on the WRP seat varies as well but stays pretty narrow throughout. Up by the tank is about 4.5" wide. Mid way is about 5.5" and at the back it's about 6" wide.

Weight wise, the stock seat is 5.1 and the WRP is 4.1, so weight savings of 1 pound.

Another nice feature with this seat is that it will fit the Axys as well!! So, at the end of this season when this sled goes down the road, I can pull this seat off and put it on an Axys next year!!

Looks wise, it actually looks pretty good too. I like the profile as it flows with the sled a little better compared to the stock. Obviously, this is just a bonus!! :face-icon-small-hap

All in all, I think its going to be a nice addition as after the install I stood on the sled and you can tell it's lower. I think it will be nice for transitioning, especially when a guy gets a little gassed.

I'm on the fence between this seat and the Skinz Freedride X-low seat. The Skinz is more expensive, but shorter and lower. The WRP seat is considerably cheaper though.

I have the same seat. I notice that towards the back of tank there was a little gap. So i picked up a 11-12 rear seat support and it lowered the back another 3/4" an inch or so and cleaned up the looks a bit. Just fwiw

I was just looking at this. I don't want to part with my Sled Solutions bag. The other options, I would have to part with that. I like that tunnel bag so much it's kind of a deal breaker.

Think I might order one.

Which Sled Solutions bag are you talking about??? The one I have works fine with the seat, except for one thing. You have to remove the inner plastic tray, which isn't a big deal. I run a water proof bag on the inside of the bag anyways.

Same one you have. I would probably cut up the tray then to make it work.

The short Skinz seat it wont work with at all, and obviously the Burandt frameless it wont either. I really don't want to go to a turtle shell bag or whatever you call it. That's just my preference.

BTW... always drool every time you post pics of sleds in your shop. Sleds and shop are immaculate, beautiful.

Got the PM!

Yes, I would agree with the other seats as I looked at those as well. Plus add in the fact they only fit the Pro, which kinda sucks for guys that know they are trading in in a year or two. Now that it's on, I like the look, it should work good, my current tunnel bags will work, the price was right and it works for multiple models.........win win!

And by the way, thanks! Some of the guys tease me about the garage and say it's not a shop its a show room......but they still like coming over and the work still gets done, ha ha

I love this seat. I shredded the back of the stock seat with my boots. It's not the most comfortable for me to sit on because I'm 6'3" and have a 1" riser. So I feel like I have ape hanger bars when sitting. However, I stand probably 95% of the time. It's very out of the way when boondocking.

No problem, it happens to the best of us! It's like when you're trying to explain something to the wife, I know what I mean but by the time I'm done trying to explain it............I'm just as confused!! ha ha
